It was fun winning games all year long and seeing guys like Gonsolin and Anderson and some new kids step up and show out, but we kept telling ourselves it wouldn’t mean anything if they didn’t finish the job. And here we are. No offensive effort in the DS except for a few ABs here and there and the great season is over in five days. Just incredible.

Totally thought the postponement was a formality. Stevie C is wild for this one.

R.D. Mangles posted:Four toughs surrounded Joe. They didn't like him talking about the Five Levels of Winning. They didn't like him putting it on a t-shirt. One of them, the biggest, ugliest son-of-a-bitch Joe had ever seen, decided to engage in some repartee about it with Joe by putting together a few hypotheses with his knuckles. The others added some addenda and marginal notes with some kicks to the ribcage. But Joe had been ready for this kind of debate and he made a few ripostes with his fungo bat, really driving his point into one of the toughs' skull. "Attitude is a skill. That's something you can learn on the baseball field... or the boardroom," Joe said. I love this.

R.D. Mangles posted:The sky was blue and dotted with lustrous clouds. The bustling cacophony of thousands of conversations echoed through the streets. Impatient children wailed to their parents. There was clattering everywhere. Everywhere except in Joe's mind as he walked up the grassy knoll. "An honest day's work for an honest day's pay" is what Joe's father, Joe The Plumber, had said to him back in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. Oh, they'd pay, Joe thought. how are you so good at this
