Hello baseball peeps. I basically just ignored MLB for the entire season after being disappointed at how the PA caved on negotiations and the Cubs ownership basically decided to do gently caress all good over the past couple of years. What cool stories have I missed? Especially if they're Cubs-centric. The ones I know of: Trevor Bauer banned for two years (good, gently caress him) Pujols hit HR #700 (cool, even though I think he hit about 500 of them against the Cubs) Judge hit 62 HR during the regular season (cool, except for all the hot takes surrounding "Home Run King" we undoubtedly have now.)

Kevlar v2.0 posted:He hit the most homers against the Astros, mostly because he followed them from the NL Central to the AL West. Don't you dare bring numbers and data into a discussion about baseball, sir

Sydin posted:Hosmer sucks and there was zero need to bring him in. I've never liked him. I'm sure personally he's just fine, but I've never been wooed by any of his baseball talents. And he is an evil-looking man.

Intruder posted:I can't remember exactly what Coppolella did but I do remember it involved international signings. Did he give them too much money? Oh the horror, he built the backbone of a perennial contender by giving international signees more money than the artificial cap Apparently it was the other way around. Per The Athletic: "Manfred said the club had reported signing bonuses for a number of international players that were far below the actual amounts agreed to."
