The 90s feel like the last gasp of some fairly high profile pop music charity albums. No Alternative is great as hell, there was the "Red Hot" series of releases, some Rock the Vote ones, Born to Choose, No Boundaries, Sweet Relief, etc. Film soundtracks were impressive, too, for the amount of mainstreams/fringe stuff they were able to pull together. I'm sure there's still a debate as to whether Spawn or The Crow or Batman Forever had the best 90 comic book movie soundtrack.
