"Mathman's not here." "Oh? Where is he?" "He's in the Mathroom."
90s music? most of it was good, and cool, but the 90s also had the worst song ever.

I still remember when pirating music was a big problem with Napster back in the late 1990's and what not.

Nowadays you can just find your music on YouTube and I guess it's not pirating now?

YouTube's best quality is either 128 kb/s m4a, or ~150 kb/s Opus/Vorbis.

(I guess downloading music using yt-dlp is a grey area.)

youtube has made bittorrent basically irrelevant for music now, especially since it's bizarrely easy and convenient to rip the audio from youtube vids. for me the order of places to look for stuff is 1. spotify, 2. youtube, 3. ebay

This used to play a bit for a while in our area in the 90s, but I think it's been largely forgotten.

Laptop: I'm So Happy You Failed

A feel good fun song about relishing in someone else's loss, I'm surprised it never got a lot of reuse in movies or TV shows over the years.

Spacehog: "Carry On"

Is that Stabler in this video at about 0:15-0:16?
This song feels like it would have been a HUGE hit if it been recorded by someone in the last decade. I don't even really recall much promotion of this song in the 90s

Squirrel Nut Zippers: "Hell"

Fishbone/Los Fabulosos Cadillacs: "What's New, Pussycat"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eRowpUntIs
This was for one of the Red Hot releases.

LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS - "El muerto"

drat, this song rocks.

That specific song was one I looked for for years and I think it took years before it showed up on a non-soundtrack collection or extended edition of theirs.

I knew it from the soundtrack of the movie Dead Man On Campus. However, I think I've had experiences of 90s bands having soundtrack music that never appeared anywhere but that soundtrack (not on other albums or 'best of' collections) and were pretty much impossible to get as a digital single without buying the whole album on digital (if that were even an option.) Probably something to do with rights being mixed up between record labels and movie studios

I think the 90s "Great Expectations" had a Chris Cornell song that wasn't really available on anything for years other than that soundtrack.

But as you said: B-sides, too: Matthew Sweet seems to have had a ton of B-side and promotional stuff in the 90s that I don't think ever showed up on any actual full album to this day. (If they have, I've missed them)

Bird is the word.
We got a vinyl single of "Hell" from Squirrel Nut Zippers' label at the college station back when it was being promoted, that was really cool.

I read somewhere that that song, and the whole album, were recorded in the studio with one single microphone hanging in front of the band, which is how they recorded music from the time period they were emulating.
