Previous to the pumpkins he was in a goth band called The Marked. Him and the other guy both had portwine birthmarks on their bodies. Corgan's is on his arm iirc.

He got famous for the rockstar guitar-pop music, but he's also into really dreamy/pretty pop, too.

I had no idea and I even listened to the pumpkins a lot in the 90s. Very interesting.
