theres so much great art in the nes era issues where they couldnt get great screenshots or key art and just had in-house artists do a bunch sometimes good, sometimes funny-bad, and sometimes imaginative in ways that are often flattened out now

I had a bunch of these growing up. My brother had an EGM sub from like 97-01 and I had a NP sub from like 99-03. I've mentioned it before but they started putting art on the spines so when you displayed them in order it made a picture, only they hosed up and used the wrong picture for one month so Mario ended up having like 3 eyes or some poo poo.

I'll poke around for a bit and try to find it but one of the things that I vividly remember that I've never actually seen on the internet is the Classified Information like 3 years after Goldeneye came out where they revealed the super convoluted code to unlock Sean Connery and Roger Moore as playable characters in Multiplayer.
