I'm vegan so I made a bean burger, using a recipe from the excellent cookbook Veganomicon. It was my first time trying out this particular recipe. Made some fries for my side since you gotta have fries. I threw a slice of vegan cheese on the burger but I forgot to buy lettuce so it was a bit bare. Still good though!



I've made bean burgers before but what set this one apart from other recipes I've tried is that it used vital wheat gluten. It gave it a real, for lack of a better word, "meaty" kind of crunch to it. Made it feel more substantial than other bean burgers I've made, and I'm definitely gonna be using that recipe again in the future.
