dalwhinnie doublewood is very nice but it's so light that it's also only fleetingly whiskey-flavoured. a good starter whiskey imo, for pets or small children, but not one to recommend to those who like to chew peat or who need something the consistency of golden syrup

why does that matter? aren't tax and student loan repayments both calculated off gross? your base pay ain't changing if you switch from PAYE to direct debit payments even though there's a higher net amount hitting your bank account, so the amount of tax you pay ain't changing

there might be some benefits implications if you've technically got more net, though, i dunno
