Kent Johnson is quietly third in rookie scoring and seems to have the skill, just needing some fine-tuning. Kirill Marchenko finally makes his debut tomorrow. One of the big finds has been Marcus Bjork, an SHL defenseman a prominent Swedish hockey writer thought would never get anywhere close to the NHL, but has 2-3-5 in 10GP. Even in losses, they've looked decent since Finland, which is having them return/regress to who they were last year; a team that wasn't particularly good in no small part due to issues on the blue line and in net, but was enough to be in games and snatch wins. It's encouraging, but also not sucking hard for Bedard, and is thus frustrating. One big part of that has been Daniil Tarasov, who looked solid in his last two starts (1-0-1) before going back to Cleveland. Joonas Korpisalo has also looked much better this year, which makes me wonder if he wasn't playing hurt in 2021-22.
