Welcome to December! The month where we find out who is for real and who is real-ly bad. So far this year the answer is... most teams. Most teams are really bad. This may or may not include the Patriots, who after actual decades of prowess look to have finally thrown enough millstones around their neck that they're drowning. Can they overcome the self-inflicted wounds of Matt Patricia and Joe Judge and the less-self-inflicted wounds of injuries and the rise of their divisionmates to power? If last week's loss to the Vikings represented their best effort, then no -- it was their best game so far this year, but was not enough to overcome Vikings Magic and also twenty years of accumulated karmic debt. How much do they have left in the tank? Speaking of power, the Buffalo Bills! A superpowered juggernaut that hit the league like a typhoon early on and now appears to be hitting a few stumbling blocks. They have played some very off-looking football in the last, like, month. This is pretty typical Buffalo, as it takes superhuman effort to remain competent and every now and then that slips. However, they have had no true disasters this year, and are mostly in trouble because the Dolphins and Jets are also on the rise. The Patriots have long beaten the tar out of them, but did last year's playoffs annihilation represent a turning of the tide? Can they stomp all over the Pats without Von Miller and survive the next month? Signs point to probably, but we'll see. This is actually a pretty important game in that regard -- momentum for the last push of December may be on the line. All this and more tonight, at Foxboro!
