it's a crisp fall day. gerry is driving home after work, and with a little bit more speed than normal he feels his car slightly lift off the ground, for a moment, slipping the surly bonds of earth. he skids to a stop at the end of the hill. he thinks. he ponders. he pulls out his phone and uses the calculator. he smokes a cigarette in silence, and then turns around, climbs the hill, and drives. he did the math. he knows how much of a run he needs. it's time to fly.
