If someone is being off topic and tedious let the thread yell at them for a bit, and if they keep persisting slap 'em with a 6. And then if they come back after the 6 and want to keep going keep pushing the 6 button. Longer probes should be reserved for being an egregious shithead, not just for someone being tedious. Where is the line between tedious and egregious shithead? I dunno, but probably it takes a couple of sixers to sound it out. If you don't like pushing the buttons all the time, maybe that thread needs an IK to push them for you? Don't be afraid to delegate power to the posters at ground level. Let a hundred IKs blossom. Scrolling through the musk thread from the post Majorian linked to CBO's second probe I counted 4 or 5 people saying they didn't want them posting about that, which is about one per page. There were far more people engaging with the topic. Is that the metric for when you can't post about something?

Is that the metric for when you can't post about something? what did those tweets cbo posted by GG have to do with musk tho other than being tweets? does the musk thread care? secondary topic what even is going on with the musk thread. almost every page is filled with low effort unjokey posts about killing elon musk, which is fairly cringe. mods just swoop in occasionally and hand out probes but that thread seems like it is long overdue for an ik that will try to make it even vaguely different from its GBS counterpart, or if it's just gonna be a secondary GBS thread close it

musk thread was pretty good until elon gave us a snoozer weekend on the Twitter Files and the thread got stuck on hunter biden's hog for days. the inevitable descent into glennchat was just the end result idk other than the suicide stuff it's not an obviously bad thread but it could do with people putting in a bit more effort i agree
