My SO and I have been together for several years now, and over the past few months I started to really see how important she is to my life. So after sneaking around to do all the requisite planning, I asked her to marry me out of nowhere last week while we were up at our favorite spot in the mountains. She said yes!

We first met when I was in trouble with the law, and washed up in her hometown without any real place to live. When I started to turn things around we wound up working together, and we've been together ever since. She's been with me through all the biggest challenges of my life, including buying a house and adopting a child, and without getting into too much detail she's the main reason that I'm still alive today--despite all the stupid poo poo that I've done.

I know GBS isn't really a 'life events' type of forum, but over the past couple of years I've really started to feel at home here, so I wanted to share the news with you all. Feel free to congratulate me or tell me to eat a bag of dicks or whatever.

Don't plan the wedding until the high has worn off so you can think clearly. That's my only advice. Don't promise people positions in the wedding until y'all are chilled out about everything so you don't screw yourself.
