That was f'n cool." For those guys, they know this is the pinnacle of their career before they get real jobs and are probably prepared to get smoked so they can enjoy the experience for what it is with no pressure or expectations. I think it's guys with actual NHL hopes that I feel worse for. Like a guy whose a third rounder or something that's always been the best player in their smaller league growing up finally getting a chance against top prospects and getting torched and seeing the talent gap. Or even holding his own but watching his teammates get destroyed and not being able to do anything about it.

Jamwad Hilder posted:would've been a lot funnier if the Slovaks won Game reminded me of this one game Canada played against Latvia at the Olympics where the Latvian goalie similarly made like 55+ saves and they eventually just wore him down until something finally went in only that was way more just the goalie and less just constantly hitting the post or missing the wide open net. Slovakias momentum in OT kind of just disappeared after the late cross checking penalty in the 3rd too. You could start to see Gajan and Nemec in particular just looking worn down and red faced from fatigue. The United States had a super easy game against Germany so if Canada ever needed a day off between games its this one. Imagine trying to play back to back against two real rear end teams?
