Android Apocalypse posted:Simply put there's no repercussions if the NFL screws up & the NFLPA doesn't have enough power to fight on behalf of the players. I think the NFLPAs wishy washy stance on these things is probably pretty in line with how the players feel. Stronger protocols and enforcement would lead to more missed playing time and you’ll rarely see players vote for missing playing time, especially when it’s completely out of their control.

Requires the PA to do things though. Sure, but in this case Tua was not assessed because nobody flagged him as potentially being concussed.

The funniest thing about the bad tweets is that irate Jags fans dug them up to get her cancelled after she made a pretty tame joke about the Jags being bad at football. Imagine being so sensitive as a Jags fan that your first reaction when someone jokes that they are bad is to search their tweet history for ways to get them fired. That would turn into a full time job pretty quickly.

Rodgers is 24-11. Neither of those guys is having an amazing season but by current league standards they’re at least mediocre. SKULL.GIF posted:Ryan/Wilson/Flacco fell off a cliff, Stafford/Garoppolo/Tannehill are all struggling with injuries, Dalton isn't much better than replacement level. That leaves... Kirk Cousins? Flacco was never that good and Ryan really didn’t get bad bad until this year when his line couldn’t stand up to a three man rush. Garappolo has struggled with injuries his entire career so I don’t think you can blame that on age. Stafford is beat up this year but just won a Super Bowl last year. Carr at 32 seems like a good gamble for a whole lot of teams to take if the price isn’t too high. He’s been pretty healthy most of his career and he’s taken like half the sacks Wilson and Stafford did. YOLOsubmarine fucked around with this message at 21:22 on Dec 28, 2022 |

EmbryoSteve posted:this is where the league is though. If you dont have a top 10 guy you are hosed. The qb protection and passing rules encourage this imo having an elite guy feels like you might get more roughing calls (whether or not the data bears this out im not going to look) It’s not like having a top 10 QB is actually all that helpful either. Over the past decade you’ve got Flacco, completely washed Peyton and Nick Foles winning one Super Bowl each, then Russ, Stafford and Mahomes with one each and Brady with the rest. Russ had the benefit of the #1 defense in the league at the time. Stafford has always been at least fringe top 10 but couldn’t win poo poo on a bad team. I don’t really know what the secret is other than “have Tom Brady.”

Sorry Lance; if it's any consolation you won't be the only young QB out (Zach and ideally Mac, in addition to the last days of contracts for Daniel Jones and Taylor Heinicke; I think Jones may stay) I think they will probably keep the guy they spent 3 firsts on and drop the guy there were trying to get rid of last year who they’ve just replaced with a 7th round pick.

Lance didn’t play in 2020 due to his school cancelling football and he had minor injuries in 2021 but he was only inactive for one game and Jimmy G was back by then anyway. This is his first serious injury.
