My game is participating in the Steam Winter sale for the next couple days, maybe check it out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1492750/Mega_Knockdown/. It's a turn-based take on 2D fighting games. The graphics are still in an early state, but I've recently started collaborating with an artist, and we're doing a big graphical overhaul over the next couple of months, starting with a set of rough sketch-style sprites and then polishing those up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37kN3pS9h14 There's a whole thread of Goon made games but it hasn't been updated in awhile: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3957894 And there's this other thread where Goon game devs hang out: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3506853

My game is on sale right now for about five bucks: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1492750/Mega_Knockdown/ It's been my pet project for a long time, it combines elements of classic fighting games with turn based gameplay. I just released a huge update today revamping the art in a major way. https://twitter.com/MegaKnockdown/status/1619024941059379241

My game is on sale today for the Spring Sale. It's a simultaneous turn-based take on the fighting games genre. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1492750/Mega_Knockdown/ Still in early access, but visuals have been getting a makeover lately, though it'll take some time for that to fully finish as the new stuff is all hand-drawn. Here's a couple goon keys if that sounds interesting:

Paradoxish posted:DD: Rewind has reminded me that this game is actually really loving good and just nailed the gameplay design in a way that hasn't become outdated even a little bit despite a decade of endless rogue-likes. I had over 200 hours in the original Desktop Dungeons and eventually hid it from my library because I was playing it so much. Anyway, I'm back on my bullshit thanks to the new game and I'm already top 5 in the dailies (by win streaks). I called my kingdom 'BACK 2 THA OLD ME'

Azran posted:As someone who never played the original Desktop Dungeons, gotta say Rewind is pretty cool! I don't like having to grind money and the fact you can have a death spiral where new attempts require you to do runs to be able to pay for preparations eventually; the second tier of dungeons (Labyrinth, Hexx Ruins, etc) are kicking my rear end despite following the usual tips of always fighting enemies above your level and such. I guess it's mostly trying over and over till you get a good seed sometimes Preps aren't really a big deal. Below Vicious you don't need to stack them too hard. You can do some class challenges or a puzzle if you're low on money, or just run something easy with Bet on Boss enabled. That said I do wish the higher guild upgrades were a bit cheaper, but in my replay I haven't really hit a wall yet

Hey what's that funny co-op space game that came out recently? I saw a clip of it where there was someone talking to everyone else from some kind of HQ, and one of the guys on the ground picked up a horn and started honking it a lot.

Oh right, my game's on sale right now: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1492750/Mega_Knockdown/ It's sort of like street fighter, but turn based. Going to be in early access til next year or so since hand drawn sprites take a lot of time and I only have one guy to draw them. In spite of that we've still got a lot of new sprite art coming through the pipe soon.

I remembered this story today and I think it was about TF2, but I tried to search for some article or something about it but I couldn't find it. It goes like this: Valve once released some promotional image with a bunch of random items in it, and people started speculating about what this or that item did, and based on what people were most excited about, they put those in the game. Did I hallucinate this or did it really happen?
