auuuuuuuugh!! He was on his way! He was doing so good! Hopefully he heals up quick and can take another ozeki run this year, but it sucks that this one ends like this. Marching Powder posted:Can't remember whose in my team but if I've got him just swap for whoever Also, yeah, I don't remember how kyujo trades go this late but I guess swap him for Best Available.

Day 8 Juryo chat: Ochiai's been rolling in Juryo. After debuting at Ms15 last basho and going 7-0, he's at the very bottom of the Juyro ranks and tied for the lead at 7-1 with Asanoyama, Ichinojo, and Gonoyama. Granted he's only faced folks J10 and under, but for only his second professional tournament he's off to a blazing start. Also interesting: Asanoyama's one loss was to Ichinojo; Ichinojo's one loss was to Gonoyama. Gonoyama's one loss was to Roga, though, and Ochiai's was to Tamashoho.

Thauros posted:this is a little different obv but terunofuji tried gutting it out in juryo for two tournaments before he took four basho off and obv mounted a sucessful comeback I sometimes wonder what it must be like to be the couple of folks who got wins off of Terunofuji on his way back up. Like that Sandanme loss was to Daishosei, who has never left Sandanme. You think he still goes "yeah, I might be stuck here, but at least I beat the Yokozuna that one time."

Teddybear posted:Can I trade Endo for Onosho (or, if he's unavailable and let me know if he is, Kinbozan)? Since I have done this, (results through today so spoilering) the previously 0-3 Endo has gone 5-0 and the previously 3-0 Onosho has gone 2-3. I think the moral of the story is never trade.

I think they draw lots to make three matches with one wrestler getting a bye, then draw lots again to make two matches with the four remaining, then a last head-to-head. It's gonna be a hell of a thing.
