It's pretty funny to see all these business Republicans freaking out that some of their members have strong enough beliefs to wield the power they have to advance the agendas they promised to support at election time, instead of just following orders from a political establishment that opposes what they want. Ramirez if you wanted to be part of a careerist business party that dumpsters its promises immediately upon getting access to the political patronage networks and machine support, should have been a Democrat! Also it's sad because the principles these hardliner right-wing guys are sticking to are evil

Consumer protection, unfair trade practices, antitrust law, etc still exist and were never repealed by congress. You could get Branco and Garrison and all them to eat the bugs so easily. Step 1: abolish meat inspections. They already cheered this when Trump did it anyway Step 2: Tyson chicken or some other factory farm starts (???) using insect protein as filler in chicken nuggets, etc Step 3: turn on the culture war, ie respond to anyone blowing the whistle on the insect protein with an ad campaign saying real men eat Tyson's chicken nuggets to trigger the libs.

I think Fishman doesn't "get" how Tinsley's dogwhistles work, that's why we keep seeing confused metaphors like this which as you say is an accidental pro gun ban cartoon. He must have read some of the comic because he obviously knows Tinsley draws issues as dinosaurs and sharks and whatnot but he must not have understood what Tinsley was trying to say by doing it. Minorities and foreigners are depicted as predator species facing us in a kill-or-be-killed situation to show how bleeding-heart liberals are too dumb to see that we just have to kill all Muslims to be safe. Stuff conservative like, guns for example, should be depicted as useful tools. The cartoon should show a caveman getting knocked out by a guy with a big club, and the foolish liberal telling everyone else they have to turn in clubs longer than six inches. That's the Tinsley way. VitalSigns fucked around with this message at 21:00 on Jan 23, 2023 |
