I admit, I haven't been following the invide GOP stuff. The gently caress did this guy do to piss them off this bad.

He's kinda so nakedly political that nobody trusts him but it's also significantly not really about him specifically. It's about showing their power as a block, showing that they CAN do this to a potential speaker.

The thing is I'm not sure A is even actually an option. It seems to me that there's genuinely enough of the HFC who truly want KMC's head on a spike as a demonstration of power that there actually isn't anything sufficient for him to concede to actually get himself elected speaker.
