My retirement dream is to own a farm someplace nice and dry that has lots of ant or termite mounds around so I can have a giant anteater as a pet. I don't know if they make good pets, or if it is even legal to own one, but it's my dream dammit.

I pet a wallaby once and it was amazing. I was NOT allowed to pet that wallaby and I’m lucky nobody saw me do it.

A whale or an elephant just cause they they are so huge, and mostly peaceful. I'd like to pet a deer. I practice walking past them slowly to not startle them, but closest I've gotten is ~5'. Reptiles are in the running. Had an iguana for years. Snakes are pretty chill too. Amazingly smooth texture. But I'm going with a deer for now as my leading choice.

just a big ol dog. even a cute tiny dog. i love dogs OP. we had a dog when i was a kid and he was the coolest dog and i've had some p cool dogs since. i also had a really cool cat once and now i love cats but i always love petting dogs the most. hell yeah, gunna go pet me a dog right now
