The Sky system is nicer for customisation, while the CS system is a lot better for user interaction. So it's not that surprising that the second is preferred despite the lower depth of the system.

The "prinny" is the service penguin from Zwei 2.

I have no idea how much time I spent on poker, being the optimal way to grind (especially on turbo) but it was a lot. Off the top of my head, you have the leeway to raise 3 times and fold once (because you can always safely fold once for a really cheap token cost).

I...I didn't actually know they can dodge Battle Scopes.

There were actually similar enemies that did that in Sky. The panda was a rare spawn in other battles.

- In Azure, Imelda does specifically say that she has more than one informant. The player only learns about one, though. You could be right... but you two are also doing a whole lot of exclaiming "Zebra!" when hearing the sound of hooves.
- The fisherman seems to just be a very grumpy old man who only cares about fishing. He's not going to overhear a lot of juicy dialogue standing alone on the pier. He's not even facing the Heiyue building so he can't see what they're doing.
- Arc-En-Ciel may be continuing performances of their old show, while the work on the new show continues.

- I once tested out exchanging prizes for mira (by selling them), and while it's technically profitable because you can infinitely generate tokens for no further mira cost, it's not profitable enough to be worth the time. The best get-rich-quick method right now is killing monsters and selling their sepith at the IBC. That method also nets you monster drops as a bonus.
- The poker on the floor is without jokers, but since you asked, a five-of-a-kind does trump a Royal Flush.
- Ouch, dropping a grand on tokens. I only buy like 10 tokens and turn those into more. But my way does take time and wouldn't make for a great video.
- The Blackjack is really BS with how lucky the dealer gets. It's amazing that you won three hands in a row.
- Poker, on the other hand, is "graded on a curve". The early hands greatly favor the player, and it only starts to edge in favor of the house in the late ones. Poker is the way to make tokens, if you want. The more rounds you play, the more likely you'll lose, though, that's why Raising is so useful, for just 10 tokens, it lets you skip to a much higher payout.
- It's not NIS America games, the cards were the same in the Geofront. The Queen of clubs is the protagonist from Gurumin. The King and Queen of Hearts are from Zwei I, the King and Queen of Diamonds are from Zwei II, the Queen of Spades is from Brandish, the Dark Revenant.
- Those Purrrfect Boots in the Casino prize list? I got those for Lloyd and kept them on him for literally the rest of the game, because evasion is super-good.

- The best part about the hardest fight in the Sky trilogy is that it isn't just a bunch of instant-kill nonsense, or relying on clones or minions, or high-powered arts. It's just a lot of hard-hitting attacks from someone who is strong and has a good amount of HP.

- Thankfully, Azure introduces the Analyze art, so Tio doesn't have to be the designated scanner.
- Um, yes, you need to buy new gear in new chapters, or else that happens: your damage falls off a cliff. It's much more important than levels.
- Randy's S-Craft has the benefit of being an AoE circle. Lloyd's Tiger Charge S-Craft is the best one for farming Sepith-Up Turns.
- You have 2 U-Materials, you need 1 for an upgrade, and it increases each chapter. Maybe? I could be confused.

- The monsters which only appear in battle with other monsters aren't the most annoying. The Shining Poms however take a concerted effort and lots of attempts to get them to spawn. It's a "1 in 8 chance," but that doesn't seem to come up very often. One of them can appear near that Acerbic Tomartian.

Rabbi Raccoon posted:

At a 5 mira per token exchange rate? I mean, sure, if you want that Martial Arts Uniform you could exchange 28 of each sepith at the IBC to get the 5000 mira needed for 1 Martial Arts Uniform, but is it worth paying 4200 mira for just 4 more DEF and 5 speed? You could get leather jackets and boots for everyone for the price of one casino Martial Arts Uniform. At that price, though, it's 40% more expensive than the best Gironde-bought Chapter 3 armor, and that has more than double the defense boost. So yeah, you can just buy the tokens, but it takes additional steps just so you can massively overpay.

Ultimately, if you want the casino stuff, the path of least grinding and running around required is to win a few rounds at poker. Personally I'd rather turn 10 mira into 1000 tokens than 5000 mira into 1000 tokens.

Oh for sure, money is pretty easy to come by, but I'm not wrong about it being cheaper and taking fewer steps to get casino prizes by winning tokens in casino games. The most profitable money-making method in Zero doesn't even come online until mid-way through Chapter 3. Chapter 1 doesn't even give you free access to all the highways yet.

- As others mentioned, Poker is the most efficient way to get medals. In this game and Azure, you can raise once and fold once for every round, so if you save before playing, fold if you get a bad hand and raise if not, you'll have pretty good odds of winning.
- Elie's holy bullet is great. Healing to everyone and 20 CP to everyone but her for 20 CP was so good they nerfed that craft in Azure so it couldn't target her anymore. So enjoy it while it lasts.

- I think the cans are because if you DIDN'T get the lemonade, instead you get cans from the vending machines, and they didn't want to change the graphics for the scene.
- Chapter 1 of Zero is... February 1204. The very start of Cold Steel 1 is March 31, 1204.
- When first seeing Zero, I wasn't convinced by Chief Tolta's theory. If the problem was the city growing, why would the wolves be hitting everywhere BUT the city? (It's also not helpful for the investigation, as even if it was true, there's no practical solution to the wolf problem.)
- Derek and his father, Chief Tolta, don't get along at all. It's a whole saga.

- Some fish are only found in specific spots using specific baits. I'll pass that information along because doing it trial and error would make for bad video material. The final fish can only be caught after catching all the previous ones, but the reward is incredibly worthwhile.
- Unfortunately, baits are only monster drops, which means fighting monsters just for them. (There is one special kind of bait you can buy once you have caught 16 unique fish.)

- Currently, any motive for Harold is unclear - as you pointed out yourself, being more generous loses you money in the short-term for unclear long-term gains. There's also the question about the effort and expense of training, feeding and storing wolves. It seems like that would cost some money as well on top of the generosity given when making his deal. That said, long cons are absolutely something this series does a lot.
- It is very interesting that no one heard any howling. Remember that for later.

- The Residential District fishing spot is only in Azure.
- When deciding what to trade to Marte, make sure to keep Snow Crab, Carp and Kasagin - they're used as bait fish to catch other, larger fish once you have a better rod. Also, you may wish to hold onto any Eels because there's a sidequest next chapter. (The one you gave Coppe was an excellent choice because Time Sepith is still rare and in demand.)
- You may wish to delay feeding Coppe in Chapter 2 until after you "acquire" a new fishing rod, because that'll let you fish up a Salmon, which trades for a very useful quartz you won't be able to otherwise get until Chapter 3. The new fishing rod isn't available immediately, but still on the first day.
- Feeding Coppe is once per chapter in Zero. It's once per DAY in Azure. I messed that up in my Geofront run.

Please tell me you didn't gamble at the casino so you could sell the prizes. I actually tested the math out on this once out of curiosity.

Everything you can win at the casino has a medal price calculated so that when taking into account the number of 7-round matches of poker needed to get enough medals for a prize, and the amount each prize sells for... each completed 7-poker-rounds nets you 250 mira - no matter what prize you're selling. You'd make substantially more profit by exchanging TWO(2) of each sepith color to an average merchant.

(And for anyone who remembers Elliot and his Warm Egg Soup - in the Crossbell games, cooking dishes to sell them isn't reliable enough to be all that profitable either.)

- I don't remember any mention of crystalization, nor any status effect where you die in three turns (other than Burn/Scorch) in any Trails content other than this book series. Well, okay, (Sky SC) what happened to Weissman comes close, but I don't think it's the same.
- You'll pass by the local cathedral before the end of the chapter, but the Archbishop tends to be particularly unhelpful. Obstinate, even.
- Randy's upgrade here lowering the accuracy is thankfully a rare occurrence, probably to balance the larger increase in power.
- I think there's exactly one time in Azure when you can go to the Neinvalli storeroom for a collectible.
- Actually I think during the ride, the Hayworth's car was said to go for 800,000 mira.
- Decorations aren't time limited in this game. There are a couple in Azure which are only available at a specific time-limited location.
- You already found Sergei last time, he's at the restaraunt on East Street.

Estelle and Joshua's new face portraits are possibly the most jarring reminders that the series changed art directors after Sky 3.

Estelle actually mostly looks like herself, albeit with darker hair (and her hair thing spun around the opposite way for some reason), but Joshua doesn't even slightly resemble his Sky sprites and it is very distracting

It probably is dull, but it has the virtues of being uncomplicated, and faster and FAR more profitable than the soup. It's very much a "do this offscreen" thing. Essentially, once you reach a high enough rank in the Fisherman's Guild, you can buy one type of bait for 100 mira each. There's a certain fishing spot which only has one fish which goes for that bait, and even the smallest size will give you enough Sepith to trade in at a merchant for 8.5 (9 at the IBC) times the cost of one bait. A single fish of the largest size gives you 10 times as much (8500 (9000) mira worth) - about 1/3 the cost of one of Imelda's accessories from just one fish which cost you one bait worth 100 mira. It has additional benefits as well: every little bit of extra sepith helps, since the highest level quartz need a LOT of sepith to synthesize.

- I think Sergei lives in the SSS building, he's got a room with a bed. Sergei hasn't talked about his wife. He's not married. Anymore.
- Pete gets a lot of questions, but I think Ian Grimwood is Pete's guardian.
- The sign above the Train Station likely reads "Continental Railroad Company".
- You need a better rod. "Nothing is biting" is the "nothing responds to this bait" message.
- Oh, the higher elements are so active over there. Bring Holy Chains. Trust me.

The Kesalan is also called the Kesalan/Kesaran in Japanese, I'm assuming the translators couldn't think of anything good and/or didn't get the original pun.

There's a mythical Japanese creature called the kesaran-pasaran which is basically a white fluff ball which is presumably related - the Japanese monster description explains that the swimming through the air is accomplished by waving its body hairs (though they look more like solid fins in the game), but, that doesn't explain what the name has to do with leeches.

Randy, perhaps unusually for a comedy pervert, actually seems to have some degree of game. You can't deny he's willing to walk the walk as much as he talks the talk.

That Tio scene is optional I believe, I missed it my first playthrough. Seeing it slightly changes at least one later scene too. It's surprisingly involved for optional scenes, involving two separate cutscenes.

Regardless of how much trauma/darkness any member of the SSS has, all of them are masters of deflection whenever their backstory is concerned. Even Ellie refuses to divulge stuff about her family despite her surname being regularly featured in the Crossbell Times! If anything, Tio is the worst at avoidance tactics, since she at least acknowledges she's not talking about personal stuff when it becomes relevant.

If the Sky games are any indication, Arios probably makes more selling all the excess sepith he collects than he does off of his Bracer work. Thematically I'd guess he's probably not that wealthy, especially in Crossbell City which seems to be 33% stock brokers by weight, but he probably has rich connections. Considering they mentioned he solved some problem for the Remiferian crown, and said crown funds the hospital, I doubt he has much issue getting Shizuku's treatment covered.
