- Since you noticed the name said in the voice-acting was different, the blue-haired doctor is named Joachim Guenter, which is why he was called "Joachim-sensei".
- Jaeger is German (and also English, apparently) for 'hunter'. I also don't really know of any 'good' Jaegers, only good EX-jaegers. That probably comes with the territory of "will fight and kill people for money." Fie's friends are honestly the nicest jaegers we've seen, which is saying a LOT for people who were introduced planting land mines 'as a way to say hello' to teenage high school students.
- Cecile isn't going to be the first nurse who gets fired from a hospital which still employs Cirone.
- Even I used a guide for fishing the first time, I think that's a good idea. Each spot has a certain range of fish and there are a few annoying cases where a fish is only available at one spot only, using a certain bait. This is the fishing guide I used for Zero. The locations of some fishing spots are noted, but they're not really spoilers. I used this mostly to decide what to feed the cat.
- The more times I talked to Nurse Cirone, the more she really got under my skin. Her traits are "simple-minded optimism" and "complete incompetence", which extends to her inability to recognize her complete incompetence and inability to learn anything from her constant, unending mistakes.
- Tio got bonding points from that extra optional scene with Martha.
- Honestly Zero an especially Azure do some good things with the sprites/models. Hugging is kinda difficult. Even in Cold Steel, hair clips through people. Hair on the sprites/models is not actual physical hair and it won't compress and move out of the way when you put another sprite right up close to it, like real hair would if a real person hugged someone.
- Re: Elie's trauma: (vague) Honestly, it is pretty mild, which is part of the problem with her character.
- Re: Randy's trauma: (vague) Interesting that at least one of you thinks that Randy is playing things up a bit much.
- "Here's everything I observed, but I'm not sure I observed it. I'm so unhelpful." - That's actually a little more helpful than normal eyewitness testimony, where people can be certain about things they're actually remembering incorrectly.
- It is mentioned at times that Shizuku's hospital bills are expensive. I don't think Remiferia is directly paying them.
- I think Randy was largely just teasing Lloyd because it was fun. And while Elie is the romance option, and she's fine, I think Randy's ending is actually the most interesting and gives the most new information.
- If it's any consolation, that's probably the most times the hospital dialogue changes in one day, ever. It's also the end of the day, so there's no additional dialogue in the city. That was a good stopping point, though.

- People like to rag on Cold Steel for Rean's harem, but all that stuff is mostly contained to optional events. Crossbell is nowhere that subtle and tends to pick mandatory story-related cutscenes to beat you over the head with the harem anime shenanigans.
- The reason only the little girl in the reception area had a name is because she's the little girl who usually hangs out with her cranky grandpa during the day. He's the guy in the Crossbell harbor who fishes all day long and hates everyone who isn't his granddaughter.
- This series would never stoop to mini-plotlines of people teaching wolves how to paratroop. People teaching dogs how to paratroop on the other hand.
- I think Randy is like 3 or so years younger than Cecile.
- "Nurse Cirone rules". Yes. Yes, she does. (though she requires an appreciation for Mint-like catastrophes)

Based on history, I assume anyone who has a picture is evil, will eventually become evil, or are actually, in secret, a complete badass trained by the church in the three sheets to the wind style. This applies to this game as much as any other game with special dialog photos.

Of course, this doesn't count in your playthrough thanks to the profiles mod, and the Cold Steel series uses the models as the picture...hmmmm

I definitely don't agree with that. Randy has too much personality - he's nowhere near bland and serious enough to be a main character. Secondly, he gets only a small to moderate amount of attention from women, instead of an obsessive amount - that alone is enough to discredit that he was a secret main character.

If anyone in the franchise is a "secret main character," who seems like they were added in later or swapped places, I think it might be a certain blander-than-cold-oatmeal character from CS3/4, who has an impressively crafted lack of development, personality, and story impact. (Well, okay, if your opinion is that main characters should possess a high level of development, personality, and story impact, then in the Crossbell games, yes, Randy would be that person and for Cold Steel, the secret main character would be ****** Alisa ******.)

On the other hand, Crossbell combines not having regular bonding events AND "pick your favorite", which is an even worse combination than Cold Steel, because you don't even get the little scenes of spending downtime with a person to establish at least some on-screen connection.

A probably-incomplete list of people from Trails in the Sky who had portraits, but were not party members, were not evil/became evil, and were not secret badasses: (Trails in teh Sky trilogy character names) Aina, Mayor Klaus, Nial, Dorothy, Lugram, Mayor Maybelle, Lita, Matron Theresa, Klem, Mary, Polly, Daniel, Jean, Chief Murdoch, Professor Russell, Dan, Mrs. Mao, Chief Gustav, Elnan, Queen Alicia, Hilda – and I’m leaving out all ones who were not evil but you did technically fight (from a certain point of view).

I think a key person to keep in mind is Professor Russell, who was a source of specialized knowledge which the player characters otherwise had no access to. It could be that some of the characters with portraits in Crossbell fit in that same niche.

- If someone had a fever of 103 Kelvin, they probably died of hypothermia, as that would be -170 degrees Celsius.
- It doesn't matter what duty Cirone gets put on, she WILL gently caress up. That's her Character Trait.
- Dr. Gailey's son is Keinz of the Testaments.

- Going to the bank to exchange that Sepith will net you another 682 mira. I don't think that reducing all your sepith to 10 to make it all even is a good idea, though. Higher tier quartz gets expensive.
- Huh, I wonder if those tourists in Vingt-Sept are part of a horse-riding club.
- "What chapter can we expect the Anniversary Festival?" Three. The chapter name is even "The Crossbell Anniversary Festival".
- Oscar will occasionally hand out free samples, but it doesn't seem like the quest in particular rewards you with any.
- There are enough students in the entire city that "Sunday School" is held on different days of the week for different districts.
- Re: Who is staying in the third floor apartment: one of your guesses was correct.
- Interestingly, in a departure for the series, Crossbell has NO hot springs at all. Not even in Azure.
- It's a little weird that the notebook is used as identification because the CPD does specifically have badges.
- Unfortunately, you need to be a First Class Fisher to buy bait, but even then it's only one kind. Azure does have an easier way to get bait, but Zero relies on monster drops.
- The only other fish you could get at this point is a Tiger Rockfish which wants an Earthworm.

It doesn't really matter too much one way or another in this case, since it's a fantasy world and they can (and do) use whatever measurements they drat well feel like, but I do wonder when American localizers as a whole will realize that the audience of niche anime games that take place in Japan have probably heard of the metric system at some point in their lives.

In Azure, some people appear in middle areas, but even I don't reliably get their dialogue.

- The Trails games continue to weave in both important and unimportant things into the backstory, and it's not always clear which is which.
- I've literally never noticed the icons for the recipes, but yeah, it looks like the ones for regular and supreme were switched.
- Oh no, you're doing the thing of buying a ton of ingredients without having the recipe. I'm pretty free with my mira in these games, but in the early game I reserve the little money I have for buying ingredients I can actually make use of.
- It is eventually revealed who is leaving the letters and items on the Jizo shrine, but that's at like the end of Azure. And just to be clear, it's not really an earth-shattering revelation, it's just "oh, it was an NPC we've talked to".
- Carp, Snow Crab and Kasagin are all bait fish, but everything else you aren't saving for Coppe can be traded to Marte, there's no reason not to do so, other than the fact that you can only trade in one fish at a time and you have to go through a series of dialogue boxes every time to confirm that yes, you do want to trade this single fish for something. I so, SO wish you could trade in at least multiple of the same fish at once.
- There is one character named Kurt in every arc in the series. The first Kurt is the most interesting and well developed. None of the Kurts really have personalities, though.
- Getting 200 tokens is pretty trivial from poker, and reasonably fast.
- I think the notes should have mentioned that the reward for completing the hidden quest does not cover the cost of buying the tokens needed to exchange. That 120 mira is, let's see... enough for 24 tokens, leaving you to cover the other 176. Swell.
- There's no reward for getting a second one for Tio, but no rush either. It's just a lousy accessory.
- The father of the little girl in Lotus Apartments works constructing the new town hall.
- You get to go to the basement storeroom of Neinvalli exactly once (for a collectible), and that instance is a long, long ways away (not in this game).

- Elie and Tio stayed behind to make sure monsters couldn't flee out the front.
- Since you can't leave after starting the mission, Tio restores mana and Elie restores HP, so you could have returned to them to heal up instead of using items.
- I read the novel which Dave Barry's movie was based on, and I found that much worse than the movie, the things the bad guys did was a little too nasty and it sucked out the humor and just made it uncomfortable. The movie version, if I recall, softened it up a little, which was an improvement.
- You CAN see what Wald's numbers are if you try and cast a buff/heal art with a target and move it to an ally.
- I'm glad you hit level 16 in the fight. Hopefully you get Randy to 17 before Mainz.
- Wald doesn't have a death wish. He has an unhealthy amount of pride, and whenever that pride gets challenged - such as needing to be helped against some monsters, his anger surfaces.
- Maison Imelda takes a long time to repopulate, but I think it does eventually.
- The Administrative district has so little in it that can't be visited after Azure.
- Wald going to 0 HP would indeed have been a game over.

- Reverie is... I guess largely good. It takes place a few months after the end of Cold Steel 4, so it is very much a case of "play all the games after Sky before playing this." There's definitely a few things which I personally think are going to be a lot more surprising the less you know about it going in.

- "You're kinda clipping through the chair, buddy." It's not relevant to these games, but I will say that Cold Steel III introduces highly advanced animations like "standing up from a chair."
- (Re: The bell being dug up from an old ruin) "Oh, they did, did they?" "That seems ominous." :allears:
- "Give us a recipe!" I do include where all the recipes are found each chapter in the notes I send.
- Seal is good for Lloyd as one of his later crafts inflicts it naturally and the quartz will stack the chance with it.
- Now that you have access to the Crossbell Cathedral, most of the time you'll be able to visit it - even if you can otherwise not leave the city, you can usually still visit the Cathedral.
- Lloyd did get trained in picking locks. It just rarely comes up when he has a reason to do it, and he's probably not great at picking more than simple locks.
- There are far worse Butt Monsters in Crossbell than the Hummingators. You'll know. Soon.
- Unstunnable "tough enemy" monsters only started appearing in Cold Steel 1. Anything* on the field can be stunned if hit from the back in the Crossbell games.
- That scene with Renne wasn't optional, by the way. If you try to ignore the branch and keep going for Mainz, Lloyd refuses until checking the other path out.
- I think the correct spelling is Joerg.
- There's a fishing spot on the bridge by the waterfall, not that you had any bait.
- There's actually a convenient monster grinding spot before the chapter's boss fight.
- Of the other Zero videos I've seen, people always remember that the monsters Lytton remembers were a different color from the white wolf, but they almost never get that the answer is both. Tio hearing the howling at Armorica probably confuses people into thinking that howls were heard there, and many people forget that no one at the other places mentions hearing any.
- I predict that you are going to greatly appreciate Randy learning Crash Bomb very shortly.
- Randy's Crash Bomb and Elie's Holy Bullet are ridiculously powerful, and as such get hit with a hefty nerf bat in Azure.

- The way the quiz in the inn phrases some of its things is absolutely unclear in places. I screwed this one up my first time as well, I think. Like for motive and means which one is Black Wolves and which one is the Wolves abilities? The motive is indeed Wolves Abilities and the Means are Black Wolves.
- Here is why it doesn't make sense for the property damages/injuries (or a protection scheme) to be the main motivation. There was only the one attack on Armorica and St. Ursula and then nothing afterwards, and neither place were contacted by Revache offering to solve the problem in exchange for something. If the goal of those attacks was for some form of gain, that a lack of followup accomplishes nothing. That means the attacks were in service of something else.
- "I think what I'm coming to learn through this game is that Crossbell sucks." Oh yes, it's got some major flaws in its structure which are causing all kinds of problems once you look past the shiny lights of the big city. That's a major theme.
- The game will automatically heal your EP and HP to full before the end chapter fight. I did check and it does not heal your CP, though.
- The mosquitos in Imelda Apartments dropped a lot of Eye Drops.
- Even if you fight every enemy once, you probably won't be higher than level 17 on everyone by this point. Getting Randy to level 17 for Crash Bomb was the important part, though.
- The Martial Arts uniform is probably more attractive if you used casino tokens to get it at the start of Chapter 1.
- All dog/wolf-type creatures in the game (including Zeit) have an attack called "Fang," which has the Cannot Miss property, so even if blinded and attacking someone with max evasion, it'll land. It's the one with AT Delay, which make it annoying.
- I think Tio's S-Craft is based on ATS, not STR.
- The next chapter boss makes up for any disappointment you might feel about this chapter's boss.
