Jumped in for the first time, got invited by some cool randoms, shown the ropes, and loaded up before the escape a few times. Good fun.

im not sure how much long term longevity this game is gonna have once its actually out for a bit and the high-roller 3 mans start getting seriously geared up. already starting to see what a huge difference geared players have only 1 week into the playtest and the imbalance is only going to get worse and that much harder for people starting out to get a foothold.

These playtests are definitely the most fun the game will ever be, but that's the case for lots of games.

It seems like they just recreated what they had worked on; the game really isn't that complex, particularly when you're buying in a big chunk of your assets.

Quite a backlash against Nexon on their social channels, but they don't seem like the kind of company that would care.

Mm, even with the interest it's getting I'm pretty uncertain it'll be filling up Oceanic servers when it costs NZ$57 now. The player base was one of its strongest draws.

Game seems both really fun and also 50/50 on being a cashout/scam. A land of contrasts.

Apparently they're walking back some of the microtransaction stuff:

Why are there so many haters/nexon shills in this thread?

That's an odd framing of the handful of people who came into the thread after the game went from free to nearly 60 bucks here to say they weren't going to take that gamble right now.

The game is $35 (nearly half of 60 bucks) and is fun and the developers are responsive to the community that’s been created around the game. I don’t think it’s barely been advertised, you almost need to go out of your way to buy it. What’s the best alternative to this game right now? It is not starsiege or tarkov.

58.60 -here- and that's one of three copies we need to actually have fun.

It's fine, as someone pointed out we had gone away, but waiting for this shitshow to somewhat resolve before putting money down is perfectly reasonable.

The gear gap stuff is really offputting to read about.

It seems like whichever game, be it this, Project Crawl, Greed is Good, DREAD or any of the others, that gets this right will be the most popular.

I feel like the concern that flatter gear won't make people seek better gear it as questionable as the assertion that taxing the wealthy will make people not try as hard to get rich.
