pretty sure all of the following are true: 1. a functioning group of mods wouldn't have allowed "give your money to a dude with no accountability and it gets distributed to people, maybe" in the first place, much less sticky it. 2. letting a dude get roasted with unsubstantiated accusations is a terrible way to get him to comply but on the other hand, it lets a bunch of people do a victory lap. 3. no amount of transparency would have satisfied the people who never cared about whether goons were being scammed, and the issue would never actually be resolved until he was perma'd and the fund shut down.

i think people should fight forum battles without guile if you're really concerned about bloodlust and people jacking off to gore posting, go charge into gip and protest their poo poo. maybe open a second front on the osha/schadenfreude threads too. if you think it's hilarious when goons get scammed or waste money on dumb poo poo, why are you trying to kill a walking tax liability, it'd be way funnier if he had to post "have to shut the fund down. can't talk about it. will update you in 5-10 years." and never posted again. you can want to improve the forums by getting rid of bad poo poo while not being a drama addict hoping to become a threadban martyr

croup coughfield posted:curious what you mean by this i don't think there's an actual conspiracy. there's no formal arrangement or agreement, just two groups getting loud at each other with no lasting consequences. the drama crew help point out where the mods are especially fail and the admins give them more leeway than other people. the arrangement mostly works with the occasional ban or 30 day thrown out to keep the storyline going. if the admins actually hated the drama crew, they'd be perma'd already. they can just do it. maybe find a few drop PMs if they feel like they need to justify something.
