Rousing stuff.

Honestly, there HAS been a lot of bad luck but, c'mon, did it ever really look like the team would do well this year? The best I can hope for is that we keep our good players.

I’m torn on Vanney. I was deeply unimpressed with him as a manager this year, but the team was utterly destroyed by injury with at least 6 starters out for the season and a bunch of other guys out with injury for the playoff push.

Part of me thinks he should go, but another part of me thinks he should get a shot at running a team next year that isn’t built under the presidency of Chris Klein.

I think our summer transfer window was pretty solid given we could not sign anyone who required a transfer slip. And none of them were signed to contracts that will hamstring us going into next year’s rebuild. I have to put that to Klein’s dumbass not being there to demand we sign another washed guy to a 4 year DP contract. So hopefully the folks currently running recruitment can start steering the club in the right direction now that Klein is out of the club.

Power of the Pornstache
Looks like we're keeping Wolff around for another season. I'm kind of on the fence about him. Outside of like three or four players Austin is kind of dogshit, so it's not totally on him, but he's not really shown anything that proves he has a clue as to what he's doing. We had some success last season when we abandoned the "hoof balls into the air to nobody" tactic which let Drussi do his magic, but we reverted back to it this season and returned to being dogshit. Our sporting director basically said he's gonna strip this team for parts, which in year three of an expansion team is kind of expected. Sadly we're still paying Zardes's dumb contract for two more years.

He also kind of hosed my usual argument of "What manager would realistically come here and be better?" by insinuating he has managers from around the world knocking down his door to coach here.

I don't think it's possible for SDFC to have done a worse job introducing themselves. First they helped killed the Loyal, which people like, then tried to big league the Wave, which people like and are good, and now this terrible name and logo.

Very predictable and disappointing.

If we're going to just use initials, why not try something soccer related but unused in MLS: AFC, SFC, AC, CSKA, AEK, etc.

He's absolutely new here, just be thankful that the voters weren't starstruck enough to pick him as MVP.

also, annual reminder that the votes are all already in and HQ already knows who won, "finalist" just means you were top 3.

Goal and save of the year voting is live.

I voted for Ruiz (although I have a feeling his and Zelarayán's midfield shots are going to split the vote allowing Acosta's midfield run to win) and Takaoka.

And the team is going to celebrate that award with...a friendly against NYCFC next week because their China trip got cancelled...

...sadly I'm pretty sure more people are going to tune into this game than any of the playoff games for one very obvious reason even though it's a goddamn friendly. At least he's only celebrating the one award as Giakoumakis handily won Newcomer of the Year.

In non-Messi news, but staying in America's Penis, Jacksonville is joining MLS Next Pro in '25 as an independent club. Hopefully they last longer than the only other independent club (:rip: Rochester Rhinos).
