I'm bummed about this. B&B were just a couple of proto-goons making pretty creative and fairly stupid music in their bedrooms and getting a decent amount of fame and groupies from it, and if that ain't the dream I don't know what is. And "Fish Heads" was solid comedy gold to my pudding-nosed idiot 14-year-old self. Also maybe because this guy was active on social media up until a couple of weeks ago, just being a semi-entertaining dork, then he went quiet suddenly, and whoops he's loving dead. When you get to a certain age it seems like everyone you grew up with could cop it at any time, and it's not a good feeling. Anyway, sucks that he's gone, but I guess ya gotta go sometime. they probably wouldn't admit it but I think Ween and TMBG, back when they were 2 weird dudes with a tape recorder, owed a lot to these guys. they were so good at doing tunes that were dumb as poo poo. "Clip Clop" from the first album always makes me laugh. they had plenty of great tunes beyond their first 2 albums too. also I am pretty sure this is the only time the actual artist has commented on my album review blog (his comment was something like "nice review, but you're less accurate than Wikipedia"...LOL)

There was a Kickstarter way back in 2013 to film a documentary about Dr. Demento (Barry Hansen) that raised $100k but it looks like nothing came of it which is sad. It was supposed to be called "Under the smogberry trees".
