I’m reminded when I was a kid I read the first of the Myst novels and thought it was really cool. I found it recently and it did not seem well written but I still thought THE LORE was interesting. The lore being books linking to different worlds, and a civilization based around this power. It did not include any of the aforementioned hosed up poo poo, but it was a prequel to Myst instead of the sequel; Riven.

jase1 was a loving legend, he had a ton of great stories but one that always sticks out to me was some guy who owed him money found out he was in vegas and tracked him down to pay him back (in of itself wild to me but I guess this is normal if you want to keep good standing in these sorts of circles). They started talking and MMA came up and the guy was apparently MAGA or at least super into MAGA fighter Colby Covington, so jase gave him a ton of poo poo and offered to bet every cent (in the thousands) the dude just paid him back AGAINST this piece of poo poo fighter. The guy declined so jase made him watch as he instead made a bet with the casino for the same amount, then went off to watch the fight. Colby thankfully lost and jase was one of the few in the sports book hootin' and hollerin about it, and I think made the guy also come watch him collect his winnings, too. I think at least one goon visited him in Vegas a few times, but I'm not sure how often or if more did- though he was always offering. He was absolutely committed to the bit if it wasn't true, between his weekly posting of his odds and the AMA.
