how come a dog will lay on the floor the same way if there is like idk bach playing or extreme hardcore techno? do animals like music? do they kinda just accept that there is something they are hearing but its not a threat so they just dont care and keep doing animal things? i guess this might not apply to wild animals since everything is trying to kill them or so it seems

It’s not a butt or food so… I think it’s like how domestic animals are kind of cool around fire. They’re not like wow that’s cool let me stare into that poo poo for like 5 hours like people or whatever. But I also think domestic animals understand sunlight and shadows and they’re like “oh hey it’s cool over there” or horizons and shadows like “oh hey it’s warm over there”. But also wild animals definitely give a poo poo about music and fire, they’re scared of it. Or at least respect it at a distance.

definitely not true. ive owned several rats over the years and two of them had visible music preferences. toilet in particular (rest in peace) loved all the crazy french electronic light sets i'd put on and would just sit there and stare and listen. actually i guess its possible she didnt care for the music at all and just liked the lights... who can blame her

I had an 18 year old cat that pretty much just laid under my computer desk all day, presumably for the warm air blowing out of my pc tower. The only time she would ever come out and jump up on my lap to see what was on the screen was when I was playing Hotline Miami and the music kicked in.

I learned this by accident once but my cat will stop what he's doing and leave the room any time i play Toccata and Fugue in D minor. It's hilarious. It's the only music that gets a reaction out of him.

One of my cats hates EDM. Turn it on and he bolts. One of my other cats will park herself in front of my kick rear end Bluetooth speaker when I've got stuff playing. I think she likes trance best.

The doggie daycare I do the pest control in plays the most maudlin elevator music for the dogs overnight to mellow them out. It’s depressing as poo poo.
