ASOIAF is good for the first three books, but once the war is over and the Starks are dead he just opens it up too much when it should have ended on a tragic but high note. Patrick Rothfuss: Name of the Wind is fantastic, the second book is bad for the first half and then gets better but is still forgettable. The novella about the little elf lady or whatever I didn’t get more than 30 pages into. My point if I need to have one is that Rothfuss managed jump off the cliff after one book where Martin managed to hang on quite a bit longer.

kntfkr posted:I think his fingats are too fat for a regular keypad and he needs a special typing wand which takes at least ten times longer to use. Martin writes his books on a word processor from the 80’s lol

kntfkr posted:If the internet is on a thing, I'm just gonna forums or porn on it. Word processors certainly serve a purpose. Before my family had a computer, we had a giant BROTHER word processor with a black and orange screen and I loved that thing. Absolutely. I actually used to write a lot as a kid. I had an electronic typewriter when I was like 8 and then we got one of those giant WPs with the built in screen like you mentioned. It did italics and stuff but if you wanted to print you had to manually change the daisy wheel with all the letters every time the typeface changed. You could play Snake on it though.
