shero was okay for the devils. the devils drafting finally turned around under him and they acquired a lot of foundational pieces under his tenure. the taylor hall trade was his coup that ended up worked out better for the team when they shipped him out, and his successor acquired dawson mercer and jonas siegenthaler with the new draft capital. it's also clear he wasn't very analytically-inclined, which is when you ship out two good draft picks for mirco mueller

Severson is a very good player that gets a bad rap because he’s especially prone to the Big Mistake. The Devils had so much righty depth that they could crush soft minutes with him. When he makes a mistake, it’s often extremely obvious and extremely funny. Great get for your second pairing.
