I’m a university educated American man and I’ve literally never read an entire book in my life. I have never received any sort of societal punishment for this. Do we think this is good or bad?

You don’t have to read books since they invented TV, dumbasses.

It’s like why the hell are you riding around on one of those lame rear end Victoria bicycles with the one weird big wheel when they invented Toyotas?

I ordered luscious new gemstones from India and made new earrings for my SA mart thread

Remember my earrings and art are much better than my posting

New stuff starts towards end of page 3 of the thread
I would think that was bullshit except that I stopped reading books myself a few years ago, and I read a ton truly. I was the weird chick who had a book in her purse all the time.

The scary thing is you really do get a better education from being a voracious reader of books rather than a scroller

The worst part about reading books is that if you read a book in public, some people think it's an invitation to talk to you about the book.

I heard a guy bragging about this a few weeks ago. Bragging is definitely a coping mechanism for something that they are self conscious about. I dunno man, read a biography about a coach of a basketball team you like or something, there's something out there for you.

I went back to college as an adult, and have not read a book for fun in like a decade because of it. Graduate school burned me out on reading so badly I have yet to recover.

You know to be honest I'm probably the same. Every book that was assigned to me in school I either didn't read, skimmed for assignments, got someone to tell me the important points for tests, or just got the cliff notes version. After school I never really bought a book for myself to just sit and read front to back, I feel like I have better things to do and better uses of my time. I probably "read" more than like 99.99% of people due to somethingawful and other internet browsing though. I don't think not reading is something to brag about or anything but at the same time I don't think it's noble or shows you're intelligent either.

There was a GHOST here.
It's gone now.
I don't read much fiction because the author can gently caress it on the last page and then I've lost days on something I ended up hating. At least if poo poo goes bad on the last page of a nonfiction book, them's just the facts.

But mostly gently caress you, Stephen King. Learn to end a goddamn story.
