Have only watched Ep 1 and 2, no manga : Between Kiruko's clothing, the intergender school uniforms, androgynous teenage kissers, and both characters choosing to reject the safety and normality of joining 'one big family that gets high every night', I was already reading this as a very queer show, before Kiruko even mentioned anything about their gender..
