Take your NFL team, The quarterback and choose two wide receivers (I guess you can do tight ends or cornerbacks or safeties)

In a 3 on 3 game against the top players for your local NBA franchise, does your team of football players even score a point?

So it's Dak Prescott. I'm a CD Lamb, and Brandon Cooks versus Luca doncic, Christian Wood and Kyrie Irving.

I don't think there's any way. They don't score a single point.

No, I assume its low the next couple of years, with a big chunk converted to signing bonus, and then backloaded at way over AAV for the last three years. The contract narrative is all smoke and mirrors by ownership to suppress player money, anyway; they can always restructure/move money around to make room, extend or trade, eat money, etc..

And, despite the added interceptions, Dak still got top of the league results on third down overall.

Here's a stat from 2020 since you want to go back to there:

"X - X against playoff teams/ teams are the winning record" is a made up stat, It means only one thing: You either are or you are not Tom Brady who is the only quarterback that has significantly more wins against teams have finished with > .500 record that any other quarterback in history basically

Playoff teams are generally only one or two games above 500 sometimes if that, and a good team will win 11 to 14 games a year, dealing many teams that one loss that ultimately keeps them out of the playoffs or from having a winning record.

So what you're doing is contriving a stat that a) assumes that a quarterback is 100% responsible for the outcome of the game, which is dumb ESPN bullshit, and 2) punishes teams who are successful, and to turn several teams a season into teams that don't make the playoffs and or finish below 500

Dak is the 4th best.

So yes, being a team game and all, having your defense give up points left and right will affect your QB WINNZZZZ

Despite that fact Dak Still won more games in his first 4 seasons than all but 5 other quarterbacks Ever, in the History of football.

Versus teams with a winning record: Dak Prescott 13-20

Aaron Rodgers 36-43
Baker Mayfield 6-14
Josh Allen 7-10
Justin Herbert 1-5
Deshaun Watson 7-19
Matthew Stafford 8-67

Are you really gonna stan Dak as a cope for how badly run the Cowboys org is? If you don’t win, did it matter? Is the point you’re trying to make that your guy would win more on a better team? Isn’t that obvious?

First off you're new here so I'll forgive you: I'm the president of the Dak Prescott Fan Club, not him.

Secondly, "Stats" contain useful information to people who like football and want to learn more about it, and understand it better.

To people who eat shoe leather and huff paint while watching ESPN and Skip Bayless on Yellfight(tm), and say things like, "QB winzz" unironically, no, stats don't mean very much, mostly because math, and too many words scare them.

So...every QB in the NFL then?

I get what you're saying and there's always that thing where Montana had Jerry Rice or Marino never had a defense or a running game and what have you. Is Hurts better than Lamar Jackson because team had X, Y, Z? But I doubt anyone would say that Prescott has never had any weapons or help either. Or that his division was too tough. He's operated behind a stellar offensive line most of his career, has had plenty of WR's, RB's and defensive aid his entire time in the league and has never been asked to carry his team. EVER.

Dak has hardly been hamstrung by a lack of offensive or defensive support.

Jalen making the most of the talent and coaching he's surrounded by shouldn't be a mark against him either, and I'm not saying you're doing that FWIW. He's gotten better at the game every step of the way, works very hard at his craft from all accounts and gave KC and the best QB/Coach/team in the entire league all they wanted in the Super Bowl last year. It's a TEAM game, more than any other sport, and Hurts has made the most of his opportunities so far.

I don't know what he looks like playing for the Browns, the Saints, the Jets or the Cardinals but I can say the same for Prescott. Would, say, Washington be a better team with:

Dak?
Jalen?

I think the answer is clear.

The following things are all true:
- Dak has always had enough around him to succeed.
- Dak has played only one full season with both CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper; Dallas led the NFL in points and yards that year.
- Dak has posted a top 5 offense in five of the seven seasons he's played.
- Dak spent half of his career in a Garrett/Linehan offense, while also sacrificing 15 plays a game to the Zeke Elliot Contract from 2019-2022.
- Dallas has had just a Pretty Good O line most seasons, some big holes for long stretches, due to injury. 2016 was the only year, IMO, that he played with a dominant line.

- Dak Prescott led 14 game-winning drives in his first 3 seasons, which is the most by any QB through 3 seasons since at least 1960. (this stat just popped up on PFR and I thought it was neat).
