I'd probably say BSG. I've said it before, but BSG REALLY changed how media and pop culture viewed sci-fi stuff. It was probably overshadowed by Lost, but BSG had a lot going on during the post-9/11 era and at a time when there wasn't really a new Trek series on TV.

i remember really loving Most Extreme Elimination Challenge when getting daydrunk in college with my room mate. I'm afraid it doesn't really hold up on re-watching. Too many of-the-moment pop culture references, like mocking Kevin Federline. It still has it's moments. Though probably not the episode I turned on with half the contestants in blackface.

CBS when it went from 'boring old people TV' to 'cool old people TV' CSI: More or less every major CSI series starts in the 00s and for about half a dozen of those 00 years three separate and successful CSI series ran at the same time. NCIS: Similar to CSI in longevity and spin-offs. Reality Contest shows: Amazing Race, Survivor, and Big Brother. Sitcoms: It felt like CBS was the only network still capable of doing a successful classic multi-camera sitcom format as the decade wore on, and they still might be the only one with any of any popularity. Talk Shows: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson STILL has a pretty strong cult following to this day from folks who used to tune in back in the late 00s. However, they seemed to never capture the success of other channels' Idol-type programming, mystery box shows, or SF/F/Horror shows that were abundant in the same decade, too. At least, none that I can recall to any great popularity.

There was a one-off competition on Fox that was an eating competition. But it wasn’t just like “who can eat the most hamburgers”, It had poo poo like 1)Who can eat the most BOWLS OF MAYO WITH THEIR BARE HANDS 2)Who can eat this six foot long maki roll but somewhere jn the middle is ONE FOOT OF PURE WASABI 3)The finale was WHO CAN EAT THE MOST COW BRAINS and I’m assuming everyone got mad cow disease

Happy Landfill posted:God I miss the soup so much pro Saturday morning watch. I sometimes wish they would bring it back in some capacity but I feel like it just wouldn't be the same They actually did bring it back on Netflix but it only lasted 6 episodes. The weekly format didn't work on the 2018 iteration of Netflix. It was called the Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale. It actually was exactly the same as the Soup, down to the self-aware low budget skits. I miss it.
