I was the fuckin pog champ in 5th grade. I once went to these twins' birthday party and this was in the height of pog mania, so these two guys both got tons of pogs and by the end of the night they were crying and I was crying because their mom made me give them back the pogs I'd won but by then they were all mixed in mine so they just like grabbed an "estimate" and it was WAY more than I'd won. Pogs ruled everything around me. I used to lay on my floor and take my tubes of pogs and pop'em open and just bathe in pog plunder, like Scrooge McDuck in a mess of pogs. Every week I got an allowance and I'd go downtown and buy the next Goosebumps book and as many pogs as I could afford with whatever I had left. 8 balls and yin yangs for days baby And my God, the slammers!

Pogs got banned from the school pretty much the instant they came out. I don't think they'd even started any fights yet, the school just insta-banned anything that suggested playing for keeps.
