One time Weird Al was doing a free show at the San Diego swap meet and we begged dad to let us stay for it so we went and got seats. We sat there for like 20 minutes waiting but then it started to rain and Dad was over it and wanted to leave. We got like 15 steps outside the venue and the rain stopped and Al took the stage but it was too late

When I saw Weird Al in 1992 it was at a little podunk nightclub in a cow town and he did all the costume changes and worked harder than any performer I've ever seen before or since. My brothers and I waited outside his tour bus for a while after the show but he didn't come out to say hi, maybe he had had a bad night or something, but he had someone bring us out remnants of the guitar he smashed during "You Don't Love Me Anymore" and then the rest of the deli plate the band didn't want. Then we got banned from the club for rearranging letters on the roadside marquee to read PENIS
