I like the Roberta Flack original well enough but the Fugees absolutely exploded the airwaves in the 90s with their cover to the point that it's pretty ubiquitous, kinda like how "I Will Always Love You" became ingrained in pop culture as Whitney Houston's biggest hit while lots of people probably aren't aware it's a cover of Dolly Parton's original song Hell, I'm pretty sure I remember Dolly Parton gave an interview one time where she was like "yeah that's 100% her song now" e: for actual content and since we're talking about the nineties, how about Limp Bizkit's cover of "Behind Blue Eyes" complete with inexplicable robot voice https://youtu.be/DOV7mm3zHZ4 ElectricSheep fucked around with this message at 13:09 on May 22, 2023 |

There are not many songs that I will actively shut the radio off for when they come on, but the Counting Crows cover of Big Yellow Taxi will do it. The radio station my morning alarm is set to plays it sometimes and it's a bad way to start the day.
