This is an important thing to remember with a lot of the tools you see for sale all over the internet. Professional locksmiths are in it as a business, so they will come at it from the angle of making money as rapidly as possible. Sometimes nondestructive entry is the way to go, but often bypass or destructive entry is their first approach. Picking has its uses in the commercial world and there are some tremendous NDE talents in that sphere but it's a secondary skill for most of them.

If you're a locksport evangelist they can be good for showing new people what's happening but yes, you tend to outgrow them very quickly.
