First week there were here was before the sun or heat, and every tourist place they went to was empty.
Now its our yearly two days of sunlight is upon us, everywhere is full of people.

People, this is the UK we are talking about.
You don't call actual criminals to inquiries, imagine the thought!

You follow the well perfected tradition of waiting until everyone is either dead or not in office, give it to a judge that won't rock the boat, spend tens of millions on it,
and end up with a general 'there were faults but its too long ago to do anything but lessons will be learnt' result.

Some Reeves and Mortimer series.
And Bottom.

Bottom gets watched probably the most, great show.

UK goons: is what's happening with the SNP normal for police investigations? What's the point of "arresting" someone just to interview them and let them go? It feels like an intimidation tactic, but one that would only work on people who don't actually have financial and legal resources.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-65323861

It wasn't an 'arrest' as in cuff them and drag them in.
It was a 'we want to ask you some questions' and Nicola Sturgeon turned up at the agreed time.
From then on they have 12 hours to question her, and if they wanted more would THEN arrest her.
The link above explains it.

As for the UK police in general, if its a high profile case like a murder or rape, you will find they are arrest happy the first few days as it makes them look like they are doing something.
And they are released when the media storm has died down and moved on a few days later.

I was mad about it at the time, absolutely thought it was brilliant. I think they lost it from series three.
It just didn't gel, went from unique surrealness to rehashing what they already did.
Then Noel got his own show, forget the name, and it was absolute poo poo.

One show that should have gotten more attention was Johhny Vegas' iDeal.
Perfect low key comedy.

This show was originally on Radio 4 Comedy and has 2-3 series on that, and had a lot of the same skits including the Dinner Party planning ones.
So I would recommend to try find that.

Yeah, it just seemed to strike me as odd that I'll flick through the guide, see Quantum leap or something at 7 minutes past the hour and figured what the hell, that'll kill a few minutes till I need to get on with whatever.

Lo and behold, it's 5 minutes of ads again.

I only switched to Virgin for the Internet and we've barely watched the TV with the package we got (mainly because I've got a much better setup with plex server+Internet knowhow).

My wife just sticks it on the challenge TV or cbeebies all day which are freeview channels anyway.

That being said, I can imagine it's good for older kids who'll watch cartoon network and all that kinda stuff.

I kinda regret it now as they had to install it physically around the house separate to the Internet line, including drilling through walls and poo poo.

I'm assuming when it comes time to renew and I scrap the TV they'll just leave all the cables as is, but probably take the boxes.

I don't have a TV myself, but when home a few weeks ago (first time in 3 years so first time watching UK/Irish TV too).
Ads are getting worse I think, and the same poo poo shows are on since I last watched.
I always try to read the small print on ads for any laughs, and found it funny the happy sunny your family will benefit from your death ads have a 'doesn't pay out on suicide' clause on screen.
