Project Wingman - Mission 06 CONTRACT DETAILS: CIF-15 Operation Flash Hazard Apodock Fracture 51 2'47" N 114 2'36" W Weather: Scattered 1730 Local Time Mission 06: Machine of the Mantle - AC 432 - March 4th Machine of the Mantle Task
War has broken out between Cascadia and the Federation on the North American continent. After the successful conclusion of Sicario's contract with the Creole Republic, notably with the destruction of the Meilynx and its cordium cargo, their attention turned towards this new source of income, and towards the Federation's bid for access to Cordium deposits within Cascadia's territory. With the transfer of Sicario forces into Cascadian territory, complete support is being thrown behind the defending nation against expansionist Federation troops. On the 4th of February 432, Cascadian and Sicario forces led an attack on Rowsdower AFB to reclaim territory lost at the start of the conflict, and to establish a base for the mercenary group. Once the base for Sicario had been established, it was time to begin assisting Cascadian troops on the ground. The first such mission was in support of the WILD BOAR group, performing a tactical withdrawal in the region of the Salvemini Vineyards before it turns into a full-blown rout. After the success of this operation, Sicario Group conducted 7 other missions, currently under CLASSIFIED status. As the month of February was coming to a close, the decision to evacuate the city of Presidia was made, with Hitman Team, among others, assigned to provide top cover. After the successful evacuation of the capital, a brief pause was taken by Sicario Group before the resumption of attacks on Federation supply lines, with one such contract taking place against geothermal production facilities in the Apodock Fracture region. Crimson Team Federation Air Force - Federation Peacekeeping Squadron Members: 12 Equipment:
N/A No New Entries Apodock Fracture Overview The fracture is surrounded by greenery-filled and desert mountains and dotted by lava rivers. There were three cordium extraction facilities on the lava itself, and two separate ground-based facilities containing a huge amount of cordium energy facilities. The facilities are protected by various airbases. History As part of the Cascadian Independence Force counterattack against the Pacific Federation after the fall of Presidia, the Apodock Fracture came under attack by mercenaries on March 4, to distract Federation forces on the frontline. The facility staff immediately went to work safely extracting inert cordium into secure containers and neutralize their deposits in order to avoid the inadvertent creation of exclusion zones, though the facility was decimated by the air raid. Overview Peacekeeper Squadrons are typically made up of native elite pilots and Federation devotees from most major member states, deliberately so as prime examples of Federation service to their home countries. Crimson Team was the Peacekeeper Squadron assigned to Cascadia, and was known for being its most brutal, merciless, and decorated. Prior to the Cascadian Conflict, most Peacekeeper Squadrons had their planes maintained in parade colors (just like most of the Air Force's) in a sovereign hubris to flash their colors in front of their (most of the time) outmatched foes, and their worldwide deployments involved strikes on mercenary and pirate bases and threats (including in the Periphery, proving the Federation's complete domination against all resistance. Their emblem is even a red version of the Air Force's. History The Peacekeepers were involved in the Oceania War, being assigned a Cascadian liaison military officer named Morgan Elizabeth during the conflict. By the start of the Cascadian Conflict, the Peacekeepers - specifically Crimson Team - did not actually arrive in-country (likely due to a prior, unrelated deployment) until a few days after the Fall of Presidia. Their first known true deployment during the conflict was just before the Raid on Apodock Fracture; at the time, Crimson was exhausted on fuel and ammo and only reluctantly responded to the attacks. It was at that point Crimson first encountered Hitman Team as well as their leader, Monarch, who would be the Federation's eventual undoing. The mercenary squad would get away unscathed, something Crimson 1 would regret later on. Following the Apodock encounter, the Cascadian Peacekeepers would spread word of Hitman - and Monarch's - exploits, leading to some failed attempts to eliminate them on anticipation. Some, however, would dismiss the threat. The F/C-16 is a low-cost single-seat fighter. It can carry a moderate payload of Multi-Lock Anti-Air Missiles or unguided bombs, as well as a limited number (two hardpoints) of Multi-Lock Anti-Ground Missiles or Semi-Active Air Missiles. Weapons
Thunderceptor While its mobility is mediocre in most respects (other than roll rate), it can carry a modest payload of air-to-air missiles along with a choice of bombs or Heavy Gunpods.
Aircraft: F/E-4 Mission: Machine of the Mantle Notes - Appears only in Machine of the Mantle on Mercenary difficulty. Inquis The F/S-15 is a highly maneuverable prototype fighter. It has slightly more weapon options than the Sk.37 Decimator-B due to being able to carry bombs, though has some of the best maneuverability.
Aircraft: F/S-15 Mission: Machine of the Mantle Notes - Appears only in Machine of the Mantle on Mercenary difficulty. Hazawa The MG-29 is a mid-tier single-seat fighter with good speed and maneuverability. It can fill its six hardpoints with Multi-Lock Anti-Air Missiles or mix in some bombs, rockets, or Multi-Lock Anti-Ground missiles in its second and third slots.
Aircraft: MG-29 Mission: Machine of the Mantle Notes - Appears only in Machine of the Mantle on Mercenary difficulty. Crimson The VX-23 is a prototype aircraft. It is rarely seen in combat outside of elite units such as Federation Peacekeepers. // The Sk.37 Decimator-B is a prototype aircraft. Compared to the older Sk.27 that it improves on at a high cost, it has significantly improved maneuverability and two more hardpoints, but sacrifices all air-to-ground special weapons (albeit adding an option for Medium Gunpods in their place). In general, it has the weakest arsenal of all of the prototypes, and should be ideally used only for air-to-air battles.
Aircraft: VX-23/Sk.37 Mission: Machine of the Mantle Notes - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT ENGAGE! 02. Contract Details 03. Selections 10. Magma Carta 11. Peacekeeper I 32. Results #F09 - Federation Peacekeepers Unlocked in Mission 06 - Machine of the Mantle The Federation maintains across most major Federation member states native-born elite squadrons. Set up as prime examples of Federation service to their respective nations, they are otherwise among the best of the Federation's pilots. Sent across the world striking mercenary outposts and pirate threats, their appearance over the skies of the Periphery means the total domination of any resistance against the Federation. #W16 - After Calamity Era II Unlocked in Mission 06 - Machine of the Mantle The adaptation of survivors after the Calamity and the subsequent Long Cold necessitated a certain amount of resourcefulness and survival, tribal instinct within humanity. One could say that this has extended the several hundred years to modern times; with the research and development of energy utilities that could take advantage of easily available geothermal deposits, the first political relationships prior to and after year zero and into the AC Era were based around who had access to these energy veins. #W17 - Cordium Mining Unlocked in Mission 06 - Machine of the Mantle Cordium, due to its volatile nature, is difficult to mine for. However, due to modern necessity, it is a necessary labor for much of the energy producers in the world. The most efficient methods are derived from offshoots of deep oil drilling methods, and seeing great industrial rigs over magma and geothermal fields is not uncommon nowadays. In the aftermath of the loss of Solstitium, cordium mining guidelines are stringent, and are among the few pieces of rules that the Cascadian government and the Federation maintain jointly. #W18 - Apodock Fracture Unlocked in Mission 06 - Machine of the Mantle One of the more stable fractures within Yellowstone, it accounts for over a quarter of Cascadia's own dedicated local energy generation. #P14 - Peacekeeper - Crimson Squadron Unlocked in Mission 06 - Machine of the Mantle Cascadia's Peacekeeper Squadron, led by Crimson 1. They are the elite among the elite even among the Peacekeepers. Brutal, without mercy, Crimson 1's pure devotion to the Federation reflects in how they have conducted themselves in battle. It is, in Crimson 1's theory, a demonstration of the might of the Federation. Once more, some units don't get subtitles... Near the start of the mission posted:Federation HQ: Crimson Team, flow 000 towards Yellowstone, priority orders. After escaping Crimson Squad posted:Federation AWACS: Crimson 1, be advised, if you go any further, you will not have the fuel to RTB.

It's cool how they're willing to play with different lighting and stuff for each level. Looking forward to the purple level since we know there won't be any more orange dominant levels for the rest of the game

After the successful evacuation of the capital, a brief pause was taken by Sicario Group before the resumption of attacks on Federation supply lines, with one such contract taking place against geothermal production facilities in the Apodock Fracture region. An emergency mission came up on the 7th of March, with most of Hitman Assets pre-occupied, it fell to Monarch and Comic to destroy naval assets in the Burning Coast in order to help complete the capture of an enemy battleship. No New Entries No New Entries No New Entries Burning Coast Overview The islands of the region are either desolate or stacked with greenery all around. The region, because of its connection to the Calamity, is wracked with thunderstorms and rainfall. History On March 7, AC 432 during the Cascadian Conflict, the Cascadian Coast Guard seized a hi-spec Federation Navy battleship on a presumed shakedown cruise, renaming it the Eminent Domain. After much fighting and reinforcements, the captured battleship was resupplied and made it out of the area. No Image Found Federation Navy History The Federation Navy, during the Cascadian Conflict's early months, had a very small known presence guarding Rowsdower Air Force Base, which was swiftly taken in Operation Carpet Dawn. However, they regardless maintained a sizeable presence at vital installations such as Harkema Industrial Park and Wai Mami Port in the recently vassalized Sawaiiki. A month into the war, they sent in the 1st Battlegroup to occupy the Cascadian capital of Presidia in the afternoon of February 21, AC 432. The sheer size of the fleet forced the Cascadian Independence Force out, though the fleet itself would stay in port for most of the conflict. At some point during or before the conflict, the Navy deployed the spy ship Cat-Eye to pursue rumors related to the Mercenary Cabal's survival post-Oceania War.[6] It also sent out a new battleship on its supposed shakedown, which was then seized by remnants of the Cascadian Coast Guard aligned with the CIF at the Burning Coast. In response, they deployed a battlegroup-sized fleet to intercept and recapture or sink the battleship regardless of the bad weather, now christened the Eminent Domain, in order to prevent a crucial asset from falling into their hands and therefore discredit their reputed strength. However, despite assistance from air cover, the whole battlegroup was sunk by the battleship and its escort ships and aircraft. The SV-37 is a single-seat strike aircraft. It is notable mostly for its ability to carry Anti-Ship Missiles. Weapons
AWACS Bugeye The FC-8 is an AWACS plane used by various militaries around the world. A militarized version of the C-8 civilian airliner, it features improved durability, engines, and roll capability. Its most notable operator is [REDACTED], Sicario's second-in-command and a rare mercenary AWACS even in smaller militaries and who lacks standard operator training.
Aircraft: FC-8 Mission: Eminent Domain Notes - Unplayable - some files appear to reveal there's a flyable version, and shares armaments/stats with the MG-21. Cat-Eye The Cat-Eye was a Federation Navy spy ship based off the coast of Cascadia. Despite sailing off the Burning Coast during the Cascadian Conflict, its reasons for being there were unrelated.
Aircraft: Spy Ship Mission: Eminent Domain Notes - One of the rare named ships in the game. 02. Contract Details 03. Selections 12. Eminent Domain 32. Results #W19 - Burning Coast Unlocked in Mission 07 - Eminent Domain Remnants of the Calamity dot the northern Pacific along the Ring of Fire, volcanic activity and geothermal hotspots naming this region of Cascadia's territory. #P15 - Eminent Domain Unlocked in Mission 07 - Eminent Domain Named after its capture by the Independence Force, the Eminent Domain is a state-of-the-art Federation battleship, now serving as the flagship for the rebel fleet. As fast as destroyers, able to perform hit-and-run attacks with its massive armament, its presence on the Cascadian coastline has created a new play for the naval war. Elsewhere, it is called to shell emplacements along the coast, further deteriorating Federation security in the region. #P16 - Spy Ship Cat-Eye Unlocked in Mission 07 - Eminent Domain A Federation intelligence ship stationed off the coast of Cascadia. Cascadian spies, however, prior to its sinking, discovered that its goals in the region were entirely unrelated to the Cascadian Conflict and instead was tracking rumors related to the Mercenary Cabal, missing since the Oceanian War. Captained by Captain Edwin You. One of the not-subtitled things is a fun little reference to the previous mission... quote:Federation Pilot: Roger, assuming CAP, with any luck, this is one of the second-rate mercs and not the one our Peacekeepers lost track of.[note 1]
