Basically the only thing on my bucket list is to sneak up on someone and judo chop them in the neck James Bond-style just to see if it actually knocks them out or just fucks their neck up.

Having played some Street Fighter 2 when I was younger, I know a bit about judo. Have you guys learned the technique where you shoot fireballs yet? I figure that would be pretty handy, both for self defence and if you ever needed to light a barbecue. Helicoptering around upside down using your legs also looks pretty sweet. I assume you judo-doers use that all the time, rather than regular boring walking.

Blue belt here. My favourite judo thing ever was a free self-defence seminar our sensei had and when it got to knives and guns, he started talking about how cardio is an important part of judo because you never know how long a match is going to go and because of the intensity of the sport. And it was especially important in knife and gun encounters because... and he just takes off running as fast as he can out the door. Learned more about self defence that day than the years I'd been at it prior.

Started BJJ this month. I chose BJJ since the BJJ gym was closer than the judo gym. Nice group of people, you've got: Students Moms Dads (i.e. me) Cauliflower eared monsters
