Me crush ass to dust

Another once great Canadian brand bites the dust. I knew they were in trouble when they started selling air purifiers and coffee makers under the Instant Pot name.

it's not that instant pots (or pyrex as well, the multinational owns that brand too) don't make a profit, it's that the giant corporation that owns the brands took out tons of loans for some reasons and hosed up in the normal giant corporation way

Lol this is incredible, imagine loving up Instant pot. Maybe if we see more of these infinite growth forever strategies fail, they'll stop doing it.

I like to imagine I can cook or have the time or energy

so I have an instant pot thinking it would “save time” and I’ve had multiple excited conversations with other people about food and cooking trying to convince both them and myself this is the case

it is not the case

Depends on what you use it for. I can make tender as gently caress pulled pork in 60 minutes in an instant pot and that takes 8 hours using a slow cooker.

It actually IS the case though. You just need some ideas on what to make with it, and the internet is chock full of those. There's a reason GWS loving loves Instant Pots.

Yeah we have a few pressure cookers and with maybe an hour of actual labor even a complete moron like me can make like a years worth of 1000 calorie frozen burritos at like $0.50 each.

I used my instant pot last night for shreddy chicken to go with the curry I made. Tonight imma use it for some pork butt to make tacos, it's like the easiest thing ever and so convenient last night I just set it before I went out to feed the pythons and when I got back dinner was already half way done

I swear if you aren't making some kind of stew or simple dish instant pots just pressure cooked the flavor out of everything, but maybe that is why honkeys loved em. RIP instantpot, I'll still use that poo poo for bland beef stews.

i've used my instant pot like 10 times and it usually burns poo poo on the bottom which is annoying to clean up. I'd rather just use a slow cooker for most things.

Now... the air fryer... immaculate convection? I use that poo poo every day.

You are trying to make something too flavorful and dry for it, you need to slop it up with a nice glass of water

Why do they call it "Instant Pot" when it's not really instant? Sure, it's faster than traditional methods of cooking, but that's a far cry from it being instantaneous. When a company uses dishonest marketing tactics like that, it's hard to feel bad for them. Shame about Pyrex, though; I use that poo poo all day.

not only do instant pots cook food faster than most other devices, they've gone bankrupt way faster than most other companies as well.

Yeah ours just makes every single dish taste the exact same as a pot roast we made 5 years ago, no matter how much I clean it or how many different spices I use. But I guess it’s good at making everything taste like that roast quickly?

fwiw burning on the bottom can usually be avoided by putting in the ingredients in a different order and not mixing them

for example if your recipe has eggs, put those on top because if you mix them in it'll burn on the bottom

that is a good point, 48 minutes to cook something I can pick up on the way home and then you have to wash all the parts after

instalot is fine it is my life that is the issue

I just find that everything gets super bland no matter how much you season it. Only thing I havent had that issue with was making Feijoda but you do about 75 percent of the cooking not in the pot and just use that to kind of squeeze all the flavors together.

They’re ok if you’re on like salsa chicken level cooking skillz but I’d rather build a stew in a Dutch oven then let it simmer for three hours and be able to see it as needed and have it taste good then dump a bunch of poo poo in an instant pot and press a few buttons and guess at a cooking duration. Hmm maybe it’s done, maybe it’s still raw I dunno
