what are some sounds out in the world that relax you? right now I’m listening to the sounds of clothes tumble drying in the dryer, and I think it’s a great noise. It reassures you that even though you’re not lifting a finger, something good and familiar is waiting for you: it’s your very own clothes. you just have to let the cycle finish. I could listen to this all night. |

da friggin ocean. i live near it, i can't see it from my house, but i can hear it when it's lively. also there's a podcast called "nothing much happens" which, as white noise goes, is very white

There used to be a radio stream called SEB, sleep environmental broadcast. We’d would turn it up in college and sleep to it, it would be a recording of the middle of the woods. And then someone would step on a stick or a crow would call out and you would wake up and freak out. I don’t mean to gloat but I’ve got laundry drying in one ear and a cat purring in my left ear and honestly this is the best part of the weekend. |

I know what you mean OP. I like to put the washing machine on before bed because I find hearing it run whilst I'm in bed really comforting. Also I love how it feels like I'm being productive even when I'm going to sleep lol. My wife on the other hands hates this so I can't really do it anymore |
