The current Incubus model could have walked onto the set of a Gundam show and no one would be the wiser. It's probably why they can't comprehend it. Genre-bending.

Now picturing a character from the Battletech universe trying to look upon a design from the Gundam universe, except every time they try, their vision glitches out like they were trying to view an Eldritch God and their brains were auto-editting the unspeakable being before them as a defense mechanism against reality-shattering madness.

It's a pity the Hoplite is out of position. An LBX Cluster round into the back of that Battlemaster would do wonders for potential crit chances on that open CT.

One submunition, one point of damage, took out life support, cockpit and sensors. Through armor. 'Nice shot' barely begins to cover it.

Eh, we all kind of figured the prototype Blackjack would be written off to begin with. It's a pretty trash machine, what with being one of the initial production run of the 'Mech, plus we have two potentially serviceable 'Mechs as salvage in the Falcon and the Battlemaster.

This description makes me think of the Kontio. It's got a pair of claws, Triple Strength Myomer, and a ridiculous top speed of 172.8 km/h, so it can always get behind an enemy and pry open their weak rear armour and feast on their delicious innards. It also looks like a deranged serial killer.

Alas, its production date is 3145, so there's a good chance we'll never see it in action.

Even better, it's infamous as being a headcapper. Between the claws and TSM, it has just enough damage to tear off a 'Mech's head in a single punch while running hot. It is 100% designed with the intention of murdering enemy Mechwarriors dead.

There were a lot of memorable moments in the OG AU thread, like the poor bastard in the Glacier mission who fell over, exploded, went through the ice, exploded a second, time, and then died.

LBX-10s are excellent weapons for this reason, since it can serve as a good Punchy weapon that can open holes in targets as well as a good plinking weapon for finding those holes and causing lasting harm.

The Clans idealize the Star League to such a degree that I suspect that they left in the exploding issue out of a desire not to deviate too far from Kerensky-Kun-Sempai's vision. You notice that almost all their tech is just Star League Tech ++, or stuff that the Star League would have eventually developed had they not imploded and instead developed certain concepts to their logical conclusions, such as the Omnimechs just being the Mercury's modular design taken to its extreme.

About the only tech that was straight up and up a divergence from their Star League origins was their breeding program, which instead was the result of Kerensky The Lesser's fever dream.
