Oh man, ballsy move there. A DFA, and it hits. Though it does feel like this is one of those "realism vs gameplay" things, because you'd think that dropping a 'mech onto someone's head is an instant game over, but here, it's a bit of damage to you, a bit of damage to them, and then you walk it off.

That's two down! Sweet! So, what happens to the dead 'mech at 0918? Is it possible to step over it, or is that route just blocked up now? Because I was thinking of stepping along that way, and taking shots at the other Stinger before we tear that T-Bolt limb from limb.

I'm going to turn around and head towards 1318. No chance of making it, but I should be in a position to intercept the T-bolt. We finish the mission first. On our terms. But I think we should try and break LoS with the new 'mechs. No trust, I don't think. This is plot, though, I think. So there's a chance we're meant to either die or be captured during the cutscene. No reason why we can't make a fight of it though...

So, what's the rule for being legless? That is to say, "without a leg", rather than "being falling down drunk"... I remember that in MechWarrior 2, the 'mech would hop to a standstill and then balance on one leg. But the later games had the 'mech stumble and drag the leg around at a crippled pace.

I remember that MechWarrior 3 really threw me with how it handled pulse lasers. The previous games had pulse lasers as going "pchew-pchew" in bursts of 3. Not really lasers so much as chunks of plasma. And then MW3 comes along, and it's like, nope, it's a continuous laser that'll pulse as it fires. Or am I misremembering?

~YAY~ I get to play again. And I've got Rampart again. But I've gone from Blackjack to an Ostsol which is... a lateral shift, I think. I have no idea if it's good or not, I've just always hated how it looked in the art. Ostsol I think I'll just follow the ice-river, and then me and the Marsdens will flank the baddies from, like, 0710 probably. But this turn I'll stop at 0723, looks like. No way to take any shots, I don't think I have LoS to anything. I'll send the orders a bit later today.

From the 1X, definitely. But ever since I've played the BattleTech video game, I've had a soft spot for the standard BJ-1. It's not a great 'mech, but I did like the weapons mix and the jumpjets. I love having jumpjets, yo. I have rear lasers, which is so weird. Do I stand in the middle of a group and activate "disco-ball" mode?

The real reason is that the original design was an Unseen from... Robotech, I think? It was one of the enemy egg droid things, but with arms drawn in badly.
