I liked it but i wish there was no visual effects and they kept it all practical. I also wish they did the 70's era footage better too. It just looked like a filter.

I also wish it was all found footage.

Cool flick though but a bit disappointing.

Just got out of Cannibal Mukbang and that rocked. Really silly funny, great chemistry between the leads. I feel like it didn't have quite the energy it needed at times, but I had a great time. Check it out IMO.

It's so good. With how many lazy talking head documentaries there are out there, it's a wonderful thing that we got such a thoughtful and interesting one out about Randi before his death.

Knowing there's a James Randi analogue in Late Night only made me more excited to watch the movie when I can make some time to really sink in.

in Late Night with the Devil, did anyone else catch the wife's ghost hand on Jack's shoulder when they were reviewing the footage? Lilly also briefly transformed into a demon after she got slapped, but that one was a bit more obvious. I wonder if there were any other background spooks that I missed.

There definitely were other bits e.g. the wife turning up on the monitors in the background

I’m pretty sure, but not totally certain, that when Jack is trying to rewind the footage that leads to him seeing his ghost wife, that there is also a demon face superimposed like the ones in The Exorcist right over top of where Lilly is sitting in her chair I actually thought that’s what they were looking for.

I thought 85 was okay but had a great wraparound segment, but I loved 99.

Plus, if you wanna watch spinoffs, don't forget about Kids vs Aliens. Which was wonderfully goopy and gross.

Yeah the hype is too much. the final movie is going to have to live up to everyones imaginations for the last three months and that feels kind of impossible.

clips from the movie most likely unless they're using b-roll that didnt make the cut.

The Village immediately popped into my mind. It got absolutely eviscerated for that twist and it is just as poo poo here. I think The 13th Warrior is one of the few films where that didn't actively piss me off.

Yeah I just finished 99 and it's very close competition with the first one for my favorite in the series so far. All the segments were really even and had a very Stephen King/campfire story vibe - I was really worried about the length, but none of them overstayed their welcome and they all were super inventive. The way Ozzy's Dungeon moved from genre to genre in three acts was really well-done, and the balance of horror to comedy in the last segment was perfect (the bit where they almost stumble into the comically oversized bear trap and then one of them gets his hand caught in a comically tiny bear trap was amazing). These movies can be uneven but 99 just feels so enthusiastic from start to finish. I'm glad they're still making these.

I liked it quite a bit. It's laconic nature is part of its appeal. It's fear and loathing in las vegas, but without (thankfully imo) Gilliams touches and with more of a tightening intention of making the world smaller and smaller until you suffocate.
