Jesus Christ, Cold Hell sucks poo poo. Her whooping the poo poo out of him is such a tiny and entirely predictable thing that makes up nothing when it comes to the balance of this weird more-obviously-written-by-a-man-than-GeorgeRRMartin rear end movie And then she has to get saved by this poo poo rear end cop at the end. Jfc this movie sucks poo poo. Holy Spider sucked for similar reasons. I hate horror that's just centralized on brutalizing women. If I got the “VHS Triple Feature” steelbook with 94/99/85 for $35, did I do good or should I return it?

if you like them. Personally I wouldn’t buy those. They’re on shudder and if I had some need to ever watch them again I’d just get the shudder sub for 8 bucks

Yeah, I mean those are the mostly good ones but even good v/h/s is mostly just ok. Not too bad of a buy if you're into found footage, like that nationalist militia segment (I forget which one that is) was pretty great and once the series became Shudder it became like 60% less cringe so there's a couple good segments sprinkled in those later ones. Also yeah physical ftw

I would buy ratmaa only.

VHS2 is the best one. 94 has a good batting average, ratmaa, the doom Robo lady one was sick. The funeral home was dull and the Militia one didn’t work for me I could not get through the last one. I checked the gently caress out after the Mexican earthquake. poo poo was embarrassing

I’m also a sucker for nice steelbooks. My favorite VHS is definitely VHS2, I liked the wraparound story and every short in that one.

I’m a found footage snob and I don’t love a whole lot because of it lol. I need perfect realism when it comes to it. Not in terms of subject bht I want the effects and camera to be real and not filters or cgi. Kinda why late night with the devil kind of let me down. I really like getting lost in the situation. Bad filters and fake camera poo poo really take me out of it. Actually that and really bad rude characters. Not sure why a lot of found footage films make everyone so mean to each other.

Heads up! Isolation (the 2005 Irish Farm Horror) is, no lie, the absolute goopiest and bloodiest movie I've ever seen that wasn't going for splatterpunk or camp like Evil Dead. It's dead-serious, dour, and 100% practical effects on the inside-out zombie cow fetus monster.

I think this is true of trains too. It's only a horror adjacent film, but the opening to Noise really captures the absolute hell of being trapped in a small metal tube with no exits and no support.

I wanna like Anna and the Apocalypse but if you're making Shaun of the Dead the Musical you need at least like one banger and so far every song is the most generic High School Musical rear end bullshit. This is what happens when we let straight people write musicals smfh

Please tell me there's one song in this movie that doesn't sound exactly like every other generic pop song in the movie. Only the brits could pioneer such a series of bland poo poo rear end songs.

South Park had one of those Remember When episodes, but instead of eating cheesecake like the Golden Girls they were trapped on a bus while a giant, shadowy spider-thing waited outside to pick them off one by one. I was thinking at the time I'd watch that movie.

Anna and the Apocalypse needed music that was far cleverer than what it has—if it were more Sondheim and less Pasek/Paul it’d be a classic. (while not a film and not Sondheim-y at ALL, Evil Dead: The Musical nails this balance with catchy tunes, funny lyrics, and some great pastiche. but I digress!) also once I watched a really bad bus-themed horror movie that was free on demand with FiOs, it’s called Party Bus to Hell and turns out it’s mostly softcore porno. terrible acting, terrible script. kind of fun though. please list the good bus movies

Watch Prom Ride. It’s awful in every way. It opens with a dance number and later has an extended scene where the villain makes one of the girls in the bus pee in a bucket and films it for social media. The film is a mystery who is the one who did this to all these kids. Was it someone they bullied? A teacher? A parent?? No it was the bus driver. Why? Idk. But the last 5 mins of the movie has cops show up to question him and the bus driver pulls out a gun and it cuts to black with gun shots. I laughed so hard
