The California Golden Seals are going to take Connor Bedard I admit this is somewhat of a risk. He's never played an NHL game. But there's two reasons I want to go here: 1) He's 18 and has superstar talent, so I'll have him for a very long time 2) With this rule of taking one player per team, Chicago has very few players worth taking. So if I don't take a Hawk now, I'm probably not taking one until the very end. So getting a high value Hawk pick seems good. I think my forward group is pretty excellent and should be for a long time. Maybe my team would struggle a little bit in its first few years in this theoretical league just because it's so young. But the core looks fantastic. I think my defense is pretty solid too. If I have any weakness (apart from youth) it'd be goaltending. I think Hart's a decent goalie and would do fine on a good team but he's not elite yet and may never be. Kuemper is fine for insurance. Sullivan is of course an excellent coach though I don't know if this is the exact kind of team he prefers. This team has some grinding but has a lot of east-west too so Sullivan might have to adapt to coach it. No idea how my prospect pool would pan out.
