Rangers select Auston Matthews. We need the next bald savior. His wrist may be hosed but I will immediately put him on a massive steroid regimen. Inshallah we will get the Cup

The New York Rangers are proud to select Mikhail Sergachev and Shea Theodore. Sergachev came into his own last year, anchoring the 3rd best powerplay in the league en route to 64 points. Theodore was on pace for 61, led VGK's D in the playoffs in points, and of course won the Cup. Sergachev is 24 and is signed to a great long-term deal at 8.5. Theodore is at 5.2 for this year and next and then UFA, so that's either a very tradeable asset. But since we have Sergachev, we'll be able to suppress his points by keeping him off PP1 probably, so he'll be expensive but not break the bank. And I think his style could age reasonably (or be tradeable). x-Matthews-x x-Pettersson-x Theodore-x Sergachev-x

The NY Rangers select Jared McCann and Kris Letang. McCann probably won't hit 40 again, but I think 30 is is floor in a healthy season. And Letang still has it. Is always in tremendous shape and a great cap hit for the last of his career. Connor-Matthews-x McCann-Pettersson-x Theodore-Bouchard Sergachev-Letang

The NY Rangers select Alexander Georgiev and Semyon Varlamov. Connor(WPG)-Matthews(TOR)-Wilson(WSH) McCann(SEA)-Pettersson(VAN)-Zuccarello(NYR) Theodore(ANA)-Bouchard(EDM) Sergachev(TBL)-Letang(PIT) Georgiev (COL) Varlamov (NYI) ...did you know that Varlamov has been the 8th most valuable goalie over the last four years? Probably could be a starter for a lot of teams. Georgiev hopefully broke out out last year after a strong first three years and weak years 4-5. Some of that is probably Colorado ~magic~, but I already took a Minnesota guy so I can't get Filip Gustavsson, who was a top 5 goalie (#10 over the last 4 years) according to the nerds.

Not sure who Jagr is gonna take, but normally we don't make the same picks, so for efficiency's sake I'll take Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Connor(WPG)-Matthews(TOR)-Wilson(WSH) McCann(SEA)-Pettersson(VAN)-Zuccarello(NYR) x-Kotkaniemi(CAR)-Kakko(NYR) Theodore(ANA)-Bouchard(EDM) Sergachev(TBL)-Letang(PIT) Markstrom(CGY) Varlamov(NYI) e: T-Bone informs me Kakko has been taken lol. so Kotkaniemi for now DO YALL WANT A BOXC fucked around with this message at 23:49 on Aug 4, 2023 |

Alright, I'll take the player I hope Kakko develops into (on the ice): Valeri Nicushkin. I checked the sheet twice this time, so unless I'm missing something, I believe he's still there Connor(WPG)-Matthews(TOR)-Wilson(WSH) McCann(SEA)-Pettersson(VAN)-Zuccarello(NYR) x-Kotkaniemi(CAR)-Nicushkin(COL) Theodore(ANA)-Bouchard(EDM) Sergachev(TBL)-Letang(PIT) Markstrom(CGY) Varlamov(NYI)

The NY Rangers take Jake DeBrusk, who despite being a whiner was one of the very best LWs in the league last year. Hopefully he's okay playing on the 3rd line in a 16-team league, because he blossomed into a hell of a two-way player last year. Assuming Jagr doesn't take him, I also take Drew Doughty, who still played at a super high level the last couple of years, Norris winner, multiple Cups, a shithead, etc. His offense suffered a bit, but he was stellar defensively, which works great for my 3rd pair. Connor(WPG)-Matthews(TOR)-Wilson(WSH) McCann(SEA)-Pettersson(VAN)-Zuccarello(NYR) DeBrusk(BOS)-Kotkaniemi(CAR)-Nicushkin(COL) Theodore(ANA)-Bouchard(EDM) Sergachev(TBL)-Letang(PIT) x-Doughty(LAK) Markstrom(CGY) Varlamov(NYI)

The NY Rangers proudly select, from the NY Rangers, Filip Chytil. He's very good and on a great deal. He might score a lot of points this year if they put him on the 2nd line instead of Trocheck. Gonna put him on my third line instead of Kotkaniemi. Assuming Jagr doesn't take him, the NY Rangers proudly select, formerly of the NY Rangers and now of the Preds, Ryan McDonagh. Cup experience, great vet, still seems to have it. The NY Rangers finish off our team with Erik Haula and Mason Marchment. I want the world's most annoying 4th line. Almost went with Tomas Tatar and Jeff Skinner (who is somehow still there), but I was committed to the idea of a pest 4th line already, and I'm hoping Bryan Marchment taught Mason a few tricks for playoff time. Also considered Brayden Schenn and Morgan Frost. No one took Sam Bennett?? I'm actually gonna start him ahead of Haula. He's a wrecking ball. The NY Rangers take Sam Bennett. We also take Mattias Samuelsson, who will hopefully prove out that last year isn't a fluke and should take over for McDonagh in a year or two. eXXon posted:You already have Wilson, Bennett and Marchment, this is excessive violence. True but you gotta figure one of them will naturally get suspended come playoff time for doing violence on their own, which is fine because I got Haula. But then Hamel is just for me + my coach to target someone specifically. And in fact, now that you made me think of it, if the thread don't mind, I'm going to make my next pick and take from the ZSC Lions: Marc Crawford. A Stanley Cup winner who really knows how to make use of the roster I constructed. That completes my NHL roster: Connor(WPG)-Matthews(TOR)-Wilson(WSH) McCann(SEA)-Pettersson(VAN)-Zuccarello(NYR) DeBrusk(BOS)-Chytil(NYR)-Nicushkin(COL) Marchment(DAL)-Kotkaniemi(CAR)-Bennett(FLA) ex: Haula(NJD), Hamel (St. Georges Cool 103.5 FM) Theodore(VGK)-Bouchard(EDM) Sergachev(TBL)-Letang(PIT) McDonagh(NSH)-Doughty(LAK) ex: Samuelsson(BUF) Markstrom(CGY) Varlamov(NYI) Coach: Crawford (ZSC Lions) Prospects: Luneau (ANA) Farrell (MTL) Söderblom (DET)
