Noooo, Dick Fontaine would never do something like that.

I went to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Went to a relaxing little park, relaxed in a spa, and got blitzed on some wine.

My wife was surprised I chose that location over Las Vegas, but I felt Vegas would have been sensory overload for me. I had a great time in Hot Springs, OP.

Vegas is a lot at first, but it's so much and all the time you get numb to it, like white noise. Booze helps numb the senses, too.

In fact, I'd love to have a white noise machine that makes all the background ching-plink-beep-booping you hear on casino floors.

Even travelling to these United States would be great alone. Like for example you live in CT. You could easily make a vacation to Portland without much difficulty.

Almost all goons I interact with here have been very nice but seeing one in person is a bit frightening to me. There is one who lives somewhat near me that I'd like to meet because we've talked for a few years on discord and I'm sure we will at some point. I'm just lazy I guess.

Overall... goons are good.

I am a fellow introvert nerd and I enjoy visiting small towns near me for the day to visit weird shops, museums, and places I don’t have back home. Drive up or down, spend a few hours on foot wandering around, eat local, then drive home. It’s fun.

Also, visiting natural parks and the like. The beauty of of an open flower field, imposing mountains, or a vibrant sunrise/sunset is something to behold.

I plan to do this to find where I want to retire some day, somewhere with low cost of living and/or low property taxes
